July 14, 2014.

The day when Evelynn was first being trained in the Japan Self-Defense forces. Excited yet nervous. She stood straight on a parade-rest position as the instructors passed by her and the rest of the trainees.

Hours later, it was dinner. Everyone in the mess hall was chatting, laughing, and eating their meals. Evelynn however, sat by herself on the back side of the tables, avoiding any contact with anyone. As she was eating, she suddenly heard a clack next to her, she looked and saw a man who was also looking at her.

"Mind if I sit here? You looked lonely, and figured you needed some company."

Evelynn nodded and the man sat next to her, Evelynn still looking at him.

"Cheng Zhengyuan"

"Evelynn Fujiwara"

Since that day, Cheng and Evelynn have been talking and their relationship expanded more. After a year, Cheng asked her out and Evelynn proudly said yes to him. After two years of knowing each other and two years of being together as a couple, Cheng asked her to marry her in his hometown village, and with tears, Evelynn accepted his proposal.

It was truly the best day for both.

Best days always and must have bad days.

December 22, 2016.

One week before their dream wedding was going to take place, both Cheng and Evelynn were called on a mission. A mission that would change both of their lives.

The harsh chilly wind hit Evelynn's face, making her nose red. Snow falls heavily from the dark clouds. Evelynn and the rest of her teammates were having a struggle. Having only their headlights and night vision lights and the snow falling hard was making it hard to see correctly.

"Snowstorm up ahead!", one of her teammates shouted in their native language.

Evelynn and Cheng were in the same group, but they split up to cover more ground. The mission was over the snowy mountains of Yokoteyama. Soldiers who were on the lookout found an enemy camp around 3 kilometers from them. Their mission was to find out why they were here and to end the camp.

"I'm not getting any response from the other team!" Evelynn's heart dropped. No response from them or him..? No, that can't be. Cheng was one of the greatest fighters they had.

"Dammit! Let's return to where they were last-" Bullets were fired. Killing the man who was suggesting going to their last location. They were being ambushed.

A hiss came out of Evelynn after a bullet scratched her thigh. She and the rest of her teammates were running since they were outnumbered. She heard a scream of pain behind her. It was her friend, Moa, whom she had known since training.

"Moa!" Evelynn yelled at her. She had a bullet hole in her thigh and her shoulder. "No! Stop! Keep on running!"Moa responded. More bullets were flying crazy above their heads. "Go! Get out of here! Now!", Moa said, hissing in pain.

Evelynn continues to run. She kept on running and running, the snow crunching at every step. The pain in her thigh was still hurting but she still knew she had to run.

'Do not look back. Always look forward.'

The gunfire was now silent. The only thing that was making noise was Evelynn catching her breath and the huge snowflakes hitting the ground.

She looked around to see her stumbling into an abandoned village. Broken windows, missing wooden planks from the home, and overgrown vines. She walked into the village with caution, wondering if the enemy was there.
