Evelynn turned around to see Rodolfo standing behind her. "Oh, uhm, yes everything is alright.", she said with a small grin.

"Que bueno...heading back home?" Rodolfo questioned her. "Yeah, I'm heading back to the hotel I am staying at, I need to get off my feet.", Eve answered back to him.

"You're not from here?"

"I was but moved to the States for school, I am here to visit friends and family, I haven't seen them in a while."

Rodolfo nodded, and the duo started walking to Evelynn's hotel, avoiding any cracks on the sideways. Rodolfo was still wondering about the scar on her, where she got it, or who got her that scar. "You're military?", Evelynn asked, breaking the awkward silence.

Rodolfo looked at her, "That obvious?"

She hummed in response, "More of a wild guess but you do have hints of you being in the military and your friends look like they are in the military too, especially the guy with the balaclava mask ."

Rudy chuckled, "Really? Share one hint then."

Eve stopped walking and pointed to his shoes, "Your shoes, not everyone wears military combat shoes. My husband was also in the military and had similar shoes to yours."

Rudy frowned his eyebrows and they both continued walking, "You're married?"

"Not exactly... He was killed a week before our wedding..", Evelynn said with a sad tone.

Rodolfo gave her a sad look, "I'm sorry for your loss."

Evelynn shook her head, "Don't be it was years ago, I forced myself to move on." What she said to herself was more of a lie. She knows the conversation she is having with him is a huge lie but she has dealt with this before in her times with S.O.E.

And yes, she still misses her husband but she knows that she cannot bring him back at all. If she only would, then she would've made a deal with God and she would've swapped places with him.

"Can I ask what happened? You don't have to tell me if you feel not to.", Rudy asked her, not wanting to cross her boundaries.

Evelynn sighed, "The Cartel brings violence. There was a raid that took place here about 8 years ago. A woman with long black hair had me at gunpoint but she paused on killing me, as if something inside her told her not to kill me. She almost dropped her gun but that's when my husband came in to kill her. They both fought but she killed him with her gun."

Rudy looks at her, her eyes looking down at her shoes to avoid any eye contact with him.

"Next thing I know, she grabs her knife and slices my cheek and she runs away." Evelynn's hand went down to one of the pockets of her outfit to reach for something. Her hands were closed and revealed to be a dog tag, Cheng's dog tag. "I never saw her again. She took my husband's life but never my life."

She put the dog tag away and Rodolfo had a symphony look toward her. She looked up to find the hotel near her. "Oh, looks like this is my stop."

Rodolfo looked at the hotel realizing where she was staying was cartel territory.

"You should probably head back, you're friends might be looking for you since you wandered off with me," Eve said letting out a small giggle at the end of her sentence. "And thank you for walking with me."

Rodolfo smiled at her, "De nada, a lady should never walk by herself in the dead of night."

Evelynn let out a small smile to keep up the act, "You stay safe while walking back... see you around." She gave him a small wave before walking up towards the entrance of the hotel.

Rudy smiled as she walked away to only realize she never caught her name. He mentally slapped his forehead and started walking back to the bar.

----

"Wow, you made him think your story is real." Evelynn was in her hotel room and Joi made an appearance in her hologram self to talk about the recording of the conversation over at the bar. Eve grabbed her small makeup bag and dug out her makeup removal wipes to wipe away her makeup. "Part of the job, Joi. You meet them, you fool them and you kill them."

"Ouch, that's harsh, you would never kill me, would you?"

"Never," Evelynn said to her and gave her a small smirk.

"Now, let's talk about the conversation over at the bar."

Joi eyes lit up, "Oh! Right. While they had Valeria in custody, Valeria told them about a missile in an abounded oil rig over the Gulf of Mexico. They were mostly talking about the game plan for the mission but about Hassan, they never had him in custody. They did integrate him somewhere in the middle of the desert when he was captured over at the raid in the village but they let him go. They said he was too 'hot to hold'.

Evelynn sighed, "So now he is loose once again. God knows where that son of a bitch is."

"At least, you have the location of where the missile is," Joi said to her.

"Vernon doesn't want the missiles, in fact, he doesn't care about the missiles. He doesn't care if the missiles get launched and destroy a whole city, he only cares about killing Hassan."

"Oh dear.." Joi mumbled. "Speak of the devil, in-coming call from Vernon."

Evelynn stood up and Joi's hologram figure was replaced by Vernon. "Widow, update me."

Eve gave a recap of what Joi said to her. Vernon still had his stoic face throughout the whole recap which gave Eve a small scare, not knowing if he was upset about the current situation.

"Hassan is quite a slippery guy. What are you going to do next?" Vernon questioned him, his holographic glitched for a bit, and all of a sudden he had a glass of whiskey in his hands.

"I will have to talk to Sin Nombre again since she was the last person to talk to. If lucky, then Valeria might know where Hassan will be," she responded to him. Her concentration was all on him.

"Very well. Keep up the work. Remember you also need to kill Phillip Graves, you know very well what he has done to us."

"I understand sir," Evelynn said as she gave him a small bow. Vernon smiled, "Rest up child, another day shall wait with more surprises."

With that, the hologram of Vernon disappears leaving the room silent. The warm lamp in the stand was still on and rain started to fall, hitting the rocky road and the pool outside of her room.

Evelynn sighed and reached out to her stand where Cheng's dog tag was resting. She looked at it and the memories of Cheng started to flow. She kissed the dog tag and put it on her neck, turned off the lamps, and went into her deep slumber.
