Chapter 1: The Robbery

Kendall's POV

"I miss you already, Ethan." I said. I was skyping with my boyfriend back in Virginia. I took in his features, his dirty blonde curly hair and green eyes. I wanted to kiss him so bad, but he was in Virginia and I was in California.

"Aww Kendall I miss you."

I looked at all the boxes behind me.

"Well I really have to unpack. Bye!"

Ethan grinned, the smile that made my heart skip.

"Bye babe!"

We both leaned up, almost to the screen and 'kissed'

"Love you!" I said.

"Love you too!"

I logged off and turned off my laptop. I got a quick shower and slipped on my yoga pants and an oversized T-shirt. I started moving boxes labeled for my room, to my room. I started unpacking my clothes into my drawers. I hung up the sing on my wall that said

'Live

Love

Dance'

I am a dancer, I've been dancing since I was three. I moved to California to try and become a famous dancer. Then I heard the window shatter. I grabbed the baseball bat from my box, my weapon. I crept downstairs and saw a man in black. Halfway down the stairs I remembered my phone upstairs. I turned around and slowly stair by stair I moved. Before I got upstairs I felt pressure on my back. Then I heard a raspy voice say

"Don't move. Don't say anything. Now slowly turn around."

I did as told and turned around. The man had a ski mask on and had a gun, pointed at me. At my face. He yanked my arms and hand together and tied them together. He threw me in a corner and I cried. He dug through my boxes, taking my jewelry. I cried out when he took my mother's necklace. He glared at me and brought the gun to my forehead. I decided that if I was going to die then someone should know. I screamed at the top of my lungs. It was a bone shaking scream.

Anthony's POV

I was watching a movie when I heard the scream. It came from the house across the street. Ian came rushing out of his room, he heard it too.

"Call the police, now." I said and then I grabbed a bat and ran to the house. The door was busted so I kicked once and I was in. Then there was the girl, in the corner with tears marks on her face. A man held a gun to her head. I ran up to the man and hit him with my bat on his back. He fell to the ground, and pointed his gun at me. I slammed my bat on the gun, denting it. He had his finger on the trigger. He pulled it. I deflected the bullet with the bat, causing it to go in the air, the rest was a blur. The girl in the corner screamed and police sirens filled the streets. They barged in and took the guy and an ambulance took Kendall away. I decided to go to the police station and tell them what I saw.

Kendall's POV

I woke up in an unfamiliar room. I was in a bed with crisp white sheets. I was in a green gown and had a bracelet on my wrist, it had all my information on it. I was in a hospital. The memories rushed back, the bullet reflecting off the bat and hitting me in the shoulder. The doctor came in and I asked him how long until I could dance again.

"About a couple months. Shoulders take a long time to completely heal. I cant tell you an exact date. You have to go to the doctors for check-ups on it a couple times a month."

"Okay." I said. The. Two police officers came in and asked me questions. I told them everything. After that I could go home. Home sounded scary. Then I remembered my neighbor, the one who saved me, I had to thank him. The police gave me a ride home because I didn't drive to the hospital. Once at my house I took a shower and changed my shoulder gauze. I looked at the wound, it was nasty. Then I looked at myself. I had long, straight blonde hair and blue eyes. I pulled my hair in a ponytail and walked over to the guy who saved me house. I knocked on the door and the guy answered. I hated to admit but seeing him made my heart skip a beat. Without thinking I hugged him. Then embarrassed I quickly let go.

"Sorry for that but Im just so thankful you saved me."

The man grinned and my heart stopped.

"Your very welcome. Im Anthony."

"Im Kendall."

"Well Kendall why don't you come inside."

I smiled

"I would love too."

I spent the whole day at Anthony's house talking to him about me. I told him about my passion, that I was a dancer but now Im hurt so I'm taking a break. We laughed and had a nice time. Then I remembered Ethan and how he doesn't know what happened. I really should Skype him and tell him but I was having a good time with Anthony. After fifteen more minutes I told Anthony I had to leave, before I left I said

"Thank you. Without you I would be dead."

"No problem. I save girls from crazy robbers all the time."

He gave me his number and I gave him mine so incase anything happened with my shoulder I could call him. I walked back to my house. I opened my laptop and logged into Skype. Ethan answered and I told him everything that happened.

"Kendall!! I'm buying the next ticket to California right now."

"No Ethan its okay. Im fine, you don't have to come down here."

Ethan gave me a pouting face and said

"Fine. Well I have class so bye! Love you!"

"Love you too!" We did out screen 'kissing' thing then I closed my laptop and went to my room. I looked out the window and saw Anthony's house. I saw a window opened and Anthony on a bed, on a computer. He saw me looking out my window. He waved and I waved back. He smiled and my breath stopped. He was so cute. Wait?! What was I saying?! I had a loving boyfriend. But something about Anthony made my stomach do backflips. I shook my head and thought

'A guy like him is probably already taken.'

I unpacked my room until it was finished. Then I started the living room. I couldn't put the TV up because of my shoulder. Ugh, maybe I should have let Ethan come down here so he could help me. I ended up leaving it on the floor for now. I made popcorn and flopped on the couch with my popcorn and a diet coke. I flipped channels until I settled on TLC 'Say yes to the dress'. I munched and sipped until it was a gone. Then I decided to go to bed. I turned off the TV and got into my bed. Before I fell asleep I thought of Anthony. His handsome dark hair and eyes. Little did I know I fell asleep smiling.

Once I woke up I made coffee and had coffee and an english muffin. I read my book while eating and it was a nice way to relax. Just after I finished my breakfast I got a text from Anthony. I unlocked my phone and read the text

'Hey do you want to do something today?'

My heart raced. Of course I wanted to but was that being unfaithful to Ethan? Before I could think anything though I texted back

'Sure'
