Y/N POV

We drive in the truck to the scene we have been called to. I can see out of the window a house engulfed in flames with a few people stood outside of it as they watch the place go up in flames. As we pull up, I grab my helmet and run up to Bishop to be told where she wants me.

"Warren, Miller, Y/L/N, Montgomery! You are in charge of getting that fire under control. Gibson, Herrera, you are in charge of checking over casualties! Let's go!"

I grab my BA system and set one line up to head into the house, partnering up with Warren as we go inside. We separate from Gibson and Miller as we both tackle the fire from different sides of the house. I can feel my adrenaline running as I see the fire right in front of my eyes. I can feel the heat through my mask as I start putting the fire out. Slowly stepping through the house as the fire goes out, making sure I watch where I step and tackling the every inch of the rooms as I step into them. I keep hearing updates over the radio. Another station have been dispatched to help contain the fire from spreading any further. We are containing from the inside as they tackle from the outside. I enter another room as I hear the ceiling above me creek and give way, crashing down on top of me. I try to crawl my way out of the rubble, eventually seeing black and passing out.

A few minutes later, I can feel myself being pulled up and out of the rubble and out of the house. As I'm being placed down in the first aid area, I can see that it was Miller who got me out of there.

"I need to check you over!" Andy keeps me sat down and takes my mask off as I try to stand back up.

"I'm fine. Just let me go!"

"No because Dean just had to pull you out of there. You are not going back in there, I'm going to get you sent to Grey-Sloan to get checked out properly" She checks my head for any cuts.

"I don't need to go to a hospital, I need to help here"

"You won't be any help if you pass out again. You are going to sit your ass down and wait for us to be able to take you to Grey-Sloan and you are going to listen to your superior! Do I make myself clear?"

"...Yes" I answer quietly.

"What was that?"

"Yes Lieutenant"

"That's what I thought. Now stay there whilst we check over the other casualties"

I stay sat down and look around me at everything that is happening. Watching as other firefighters go in and out of the house, seeing the water from one of the ladder engines sprays on top of the house as the fire slowly goes out. I stand up and walk over to the engine I arrived in and grab a bottle of water out of the safe, taking a few small sips, closing the safe up and walking back over to the casualty area. Andy comes back over to me.

"Get in the aid car, I'm going to take you to Grey-Sloan myself and drop you off there"

"Can I at least take my jacket off and leave it in the engine?"

"yeah, but after that, I want you in that aid car, ready to go"

"Ok, I will be, don't worry"

I hurry up and take my jacket off and throw in on my seat in the engine and head over to the air car and jump in the passenger side, fastening my seatbelt. Andy starts driving towards the hospital.

"Do I really have to get checked out?"

"Yes, you do. It's protocol. You got trapped under the rubble and passed out. There is no way that anyone is going to let you get away with not going to the hospital and getting cleared by a doctor. If we have to, so do you"
