Y/N POV

A few hours later

Finally my first shift has finished. I can't say that I am not glad that it has been and gone but it was definitely exhausting. I get dressed back into my civilian clothing. It feels so nice not to be in uniform as I can actually breathe comfortably. I grab my jacket and helmet, closing my locker and heading downstairs to leave the building. I put my helmet on and start my bike up, revving the engine and taking off down the street towards Emerald City Bar. I have to say, the bar there is pretty good. It has a very nice atmosphere as everyone is friendly there. There are the regulars that go most nights or at least a few times a week after a busy day or night at work. I take a few turns around the streets of the city as I take in the late night of Seattle.

I park up outside the bar, taking my helmet with me so I know it is safe and won't be stolen. As much as I trust no one would try it, I don't like to take any chances. Helmets aren't cheap to buy. I head inside and order a coke, staying sober so that I can drive back home safely tonight. I take a seat in one of the booths and wait for the rest of the team to show up. I grab my drink and have a sip, making sure that my drink at least lasts a little while so I don't spend more money than I should.

I look up as I hear the door open, seeing majority of A shift pile through the door. Bishop and Andy spot me after a few seconds of looking around, coming over and sitting next to me after giving Montgomery their drink orders.

"Nice of you to finally show up girls" I give them both a smirk, placing my drink back down onto the table.

"Not all of us had the chance to be able to ride off from work on a motorbike Y/N" Bishop grabs her drink and takes a sip of her beer.

"Not all of us want to ride a death trap" Andy gives me a small smile.

"It isn't a death trap, it's an adrenaline rush which is what I thrive off when I need something to keep me going and help me feel more mortal than I feel like sometimes" I state.

"You are dangerous, I like it" Bishop smirks at me.

I might just be me but I swear that she is slyly checking me out. Just more discreet than she did after I got out of the shower earlier today. I don't mind it but I would rather she actually get to know me as a person first before trying to even think about hooking up with me. Plus I would like to keep my job here. I only just started at this station. I would not like to have to look for another job or transfer to another station. I continue to take small sips of my coke, making it last.

"So, Y/N, what made you want to be a firefighter in the first place?" Andy gives me a quick glance as she takes a swig of her beer.

"Well, one thing I have to say is who can resist someone in uniform. But to be honest, I liked the thought of putting out fires, helping out at RTCs that happen. Having that rush go through your body when lives are on the line"

"I mean, I get you with the whole uniform thing Y/L/N, I can't resist someone in uniform. Just something about it that strikes as sexy. I have had a thing or 2 with men in uniform" Andy gives a slight grin towards me and Bishop. Bishop, however, does give a knowing glare towards Andy. She must know who she has been with to give her that look.

"How about you Bishop. Ever been with someone in uniform?" I ask.

"I have had my eye on a few people in uniform but I tend to just stick to my self-care nights"

"Ah, I think I know what you mean. You get the job done yourself. You know what you like anyway so why try teach someone how to do the stuff you like" I smile towards Bishop.
