Chapter 4 - Love Shack

Y/N POV

TW - SMUT!

I wake up after an hour nap in the bunk room, it wasn't the comfiest but it will do. I get out of bed and walk out of the bunk room and head towards the beanery. I would like to work out but I'm not allowed. I grab a snack and go into the lounge, eating a granola bar and watching the TV. Nothing interesting is on, it's mainly on for background noise and to pass some time while we wait for a call out. Jack comes in and sits down or a chair a bit further away from me.

"Hey Probie. Liking your first day here?"

"It's going pretty well all things considering. Getting put on Aid car is alright. Herrera is a fun person though. We had fun on the last call out"

"Oh yeah? Anything interesting?"

"No, just talking about work really. But it's nice not to be serious about work all the time, you know. To just relax until you get to the scene or have to get into gear ready to be on scene"

"Herrera is one of the good ones. All of here are really. I haven't had a run in with any bad firefighters here. But I don't know about other fire houses. Be lucky that you got one of the good fire houses. We got your back probie"

"Thanks Gibson, it means a lot. So, what else is there to do around here other than watch TV, the gym or sit in the beanery?"

"Not much really apart from doing chores. When it is like this, it can get boring sometimes. You just have to kind of make entertainment for yourself"

"That's boring. Wait, what time is it?"

"8:10PM why?"

"I have a phone call I have to make. I'll see you later"

"See you, probie"

I walk off to a bunk room and pull my phone out of my pocket as well as the number of the doctor and call her.

"Hello, Dr Shepherd speaking"

"Dr Shepherd, it's Y/N from earlier. the firefighter?"

"Oh, yeah, hi. Are you ok? Is anything hurting?"

"No, I thought I would give you a call as your shift ended at 8, right?"

"Oh, yeah, it did"

"So, do you fancy getting a drink some time? On me, for helping me earlier today"

"I don't drink alcohol but we can go for drinks some time. I can drive you home afterwards"

"Then how about, while you wait, you can come over to the station and we can get to know each other?"

"Is that code for something Y/L/N?"

"It could be if you wanted it to be. That is all up to you"

"I'll take you up on that offer, I'll be there in 15. See you there"

"See you soon Dr Shepherd"

I hang up and put my phone in my pocket and walk out of the bunk room with a smile on my face. I go to close the door and turn around, seeing Andy walking into the locker room.

"You seem awfully happy, what have you done?"

"Bold of you to assume I've done anything Herrera. I'm as innocent as can be"

"Uhuh, and I'm the Chief, spill"

"I may or may not have invited someone here while we wait for a call out..."

"Is it a certain doctor friend?"

"It may be, but it's just a hook up. It's not like it's anything else. Don't worry, I'm not going to get myself into a mess"
