"Look at us, the city is wide awake and theres an amazing party going on outside this room right now and we're sat here crying." They laugh at how ridiculous the situation was. "now you say the word and we can leave and just go to my place maybe watch a couple of movies, or we can go out there and have a good time?'' Nao wipes the tears off of her friends face with her hands before brushing her hair from her face.
"So..''
"Let's go have some fun!'' the moment the two opened the door it seemed as if their happy little moment was short lived. The moment the door swung open Eric stood on the other side with his hand up as if he were about to knock.
"I- I heard you guys talking in here and I didn't want to interrupt but I.''
"It's your room isn't it?'' nao mentally facepalms herself and let's go of Sooahs hand, there was a momentary silence between the three until Juyeon came running up behind Eric.
"Hey Eric we need one more for bear p..pong.'' Nao knew there was a possibility she would regret this, but not thinking much other than her friend deserved answers she ended up volunteering herself to be their final player.
So while Nao found herself finally letting loose and having a bit of fun with Yeosang and Erics friends Eric and Sooah were left alone to talk and the silence seemed to swallow them whole.
Eric was anxious, anxious about this exact moment here, it was the entire reason he had avoided her since everything happened. He knew that one day he would have to face her, he just didn't think that time would be now. For a moment the two just sat there in silence, the awkwardness between the two of them could fill the entire room. The sound of loud music and the voices of passersby could be faintly heard outside of the room.
"Why did you leave me alone?" Six words that broke the silence and the moment they were spoken Eric's chest grew heavy.
"You of all people, I didn't care that everyone else wanted nothing to do with me but you were my best friend Youngjae and you just abandoned me." Hearing the sadness in her voice and his full name spill from her lips broke him,he could tell that she was trying to hold back her tears.
"It was me Sooah." Sooah simply stared at him in confusion, not seeming to get what he was talking about.
"I'm the reason all of those articles came out."
"W-what?" Within seconds Sooahs face had changed from one of sadness and hurt to betrayal.
"I- I didn't know that it would get that bad I was just being stupid and I.." he sighs and looks down at his feet.
"I liked you Sooah."
"What the hell does that have to do with what you just told me? What do you mean it's your fault?!"
"That day...the day you and Jinsoul were outside of your dorm kissing next to her car. I was coming to confess to you. I guess...I guess when I saw it I got jealous and hurt and I...well I tipped off netizens and I told them all about your kiss. But I never said who it was or gave any information on where I saw it happen. I never expected that they'd sneak onto campus and take those pictures. I was still hurt for days...but when the articles came out I felt so guilty because I knew it could have only been my fault that they had information that lead to those pictures in the first place. I was just being selfish and I acted like a typical guy being rejected" He couldn't even look her in her eyes as he confessed the truth, the truth that not even his friends knew. She didn't say a word, she just sat there in silence.
"You know I want to thank you.." his eyes widened at her words.
"I want to thank you because you did something I would have never been able to do in free will. To thank you because I no longer have to hide who I am." Standing up from her seat as Eric looked up at her he could now see the tears in her eyes.
"I can accept that your feelings made you do something so fucking stupid, but I can't accept that you would abandon me after something you've caused. It was a mistake coming out tonight knowing the party would be here." And with those words she left him alone as tears spilled from her eyes.
Nao had been cheering and living in her excitement for having won her first game of beer pong when she spotted Sooah walking down the stairs in a hurry wiping tears from her face. With urgency she pushes past all of the drunken students and makes her way outside to join her friend.
"Sooah?'' as she made it outside her eyes to scan the front porch in search for her friend, it wasn't until she heard a sharp breath that she looked over the porch railing and found her friend crying near the bushes.
Sooah and Nao ended up walking back to her dorm in silence, although Nao was dying to know the reason that Sooah fled the place in tears she knew that she would explain it to her when she was ready. It wasn't until the two were freshly showered and sat comfortably on the couch with a bowl of popcorn that Sooah sat and told her everything. After hearing about Eric's reasons for having avoided her for so long Nao felt completely pissed off, she was more pissed off that she had just started to find people that she actually felt she could have a good time with, but she was starting to think that there was a possibility they were just like him. Just like Eric Sohn.
