Just A Pearl -Her beginnings-

Chapter 6: The solar station

Peri landed the ship in solar station's landing dock. Other unused ships rested all in a row. The big almost empty room gleams bright oranges and yellows. There was no gem to be seen except for two topaz guards waiting at the entrance. The tall guards stood still and firm, with staffs in arm. Peri pressed a button on the holo screen to open the ship's doors, and the holo stairs smoothly appeared under wisterias step. The two made their way up the stairs that led to solar's entrance, with topazes meeting them with cold gazes. Once the guards had seen wisteria, they let her pass without a word said. Peri had to tilt her gaze completely up to meet the topaz's eyes since their height towered over her. One of them smiled at her, so peri being friendly, gave a dim smile back as she followed her agate into solar.

"Periwinkle, since you have never been here before I'm going to tell you some things about this station."
Peri looked up at wisteria as they walked the tangerine hall, nodding silently.
"We are going to pass the containment room, where there will be many prisoners who might try to speak with you. These gems aren't always the kindest, so just keep your view straight on."
"Ah..Understood."
"Oh and don't wander far from me. Some other authoritative gems may assume that you are a stray pearl and have you sent back to the reef."
"Wait that really happens?" Periwinkle said concerned.
"Unfortunately there have been a few cases like that over the last few decade's because of the pearl quality decline. Other pearls tend to get distracted and leave their owners side and get confused for a stray or rebelling pearl."
"Wow.."
"Wow indeed."

They both approached a hexagon shaped door. Peri stepped in front to open the door for them, and as soon as she did, her ears were met with some loud chaotic chatter within the cell room. A few quartz and a verdelite sat in the cells, two of them arguing till they saw wisteria enter the room. The room silenced as the rebels watched the agate walk down the hall. Peri could feel each rebels judging stare on her and her agate, but she dare not give them any attention. The agate's view was straight ahead. her walk was bold and showed she had somewhere to be. She has clearly walked passed rebels dozens of times, because she made "not looking at them" seem so easy.

"Looks like agates finally got herself a trophy." One of the quartz said with a smirk, her eyes following the short purple pearl.
"Took her long enough." A green rebel said from the opposite cell. Peri made sure to keep her view straight, just as wisteria had instructed. Though she still listened to the contained rebels call out to them.

"Hey purple!" Out of pure reaction, peri turned to where the voice had come from.

Bet your just like all the other stuck up pearls they just give out huh?" The ice blue quartz called out with a laugh

That's distasteful..

Peri's expression wilted a bit as she quickly went back to facing the upcoming door. Wisteria's eyes darted down to periwinkle, watching her reaction to keep note of.
" I'm assuming you get this talk a lot?" Peri referring to the rebels quietly.
"Indeed. Though you get used to it after a while. Means nothing to me now." She whispered with a smirk, glancing back at one of the rebels that had called out to them before.

Peri opened a wide door that revealed a wide control room filled with holo screens and a power core. Some extra rejuvenators were displayed on the sides of the room. This room was where lots of data was stored. The door swiftly closed after they both walked in. The chatter was now drowned out by the thick walls. Wisteria walked up to the biggest holo screen and started typing in the search engine that made many files pop up.
"Transfer a copy of rebel file 204 and 548 into your holo pad please."
"You got it." Peri pulled out her holo screen to transfer the data. The files seemed to be of the ice blue quartz and the jasper that were involved with the trial.
" do you have them?"
"Yes wisteria."
"Good. Proceed to edit the gem status on the file from "rebel" to "active guard", and write about their assault history below. After that save the edit and transfer them back to solars system and overwrite the previous files."
Peri nodded as she continued to type on her holo screen. She figured the news had labeled the gems as rebels after the assault, when it was more of a brash personal fight between the two.
Peri then transferred the files back to the main screen and overwritten the original files. She saved the information and turned to her agate.
"it's done."
"Good now the next step is to reprimand and watch their behavior." Wisteria said with a sigh.
"Watch their behavior?"
"Yes. Just to see if they improve or if anymore assaults happen. If they don't improve they will most likely be rejuvenated or replaced. Which I wouldn't want of course-"
Peri silently thought for a moment, leaving a long pause within the conversation.
"Do you come here often?"
"Only when I need to. I mainly work with rebel cases where ever I am needed."
"Huh..interesting.." peri wondered why gems rebelled so often. Why weren't they happy in their line of work? Maybe it could be of mistreatment? But that's impossible. Gems are treated only the best for the best performances..right?
Maybe there is something wrong with rebels. Something coded within them incorrectly, which leads them to make brash decisions against the society.

"Now that thats done, we can move on to rebel transfer."
"Rebel transfer?"
"Yes. Ones that are in "irredeemable" status get shattered or rejuvenated. Whatever their case saw fit. Can you pull up file 197 and 263?"
Peri nodded and scrolled on the main screen to find and download them. She saw that the pictures attached files were the gems that called out to her in the cell room. Their files labeled " irredeemable".

Once the files where downloaded, the two were off on their way down the hall. The needles chatter continued between the prisoners till wisteria called upon two guards.
"Guards. Open the verdelite's and the amethyst's cell. Be prepared for any struggle." The topazes nodded and did just as instructed. They made sure to handle each prisoner tight so they couldn't run.

"Come with me." Wisteria walked down the hall to leave, with peri close at her side and the guards behind.
They had made it to the main hall when the amethyst was able to break free from the topaz. Chaos grew from there.
The lavender quartz jumped high to meet the topaz's face to greet him with a punch, knocking him backward. The verdelite he was holding was now able to break free.
"HAH!" The verde began to giggle seemingly uncontrollably. Wisteria turned her view to face the rebelling gems.
"You!" She immediately summoned her taser and got into a fighting stance. Peri remembered she had a weapon of her own, so with that she quickly summoned her light colored bow and arrows. The verde began to throw her bombs she had hidden right from the start. They landed just beneath wisteria. Her eyes widened in that moment of failure, when a arrow shot the bomb sending it flying towards the verde.  It exploded right at her instead, and poofed her instantly. The amethyst however was still up and punching. She ran right up to wisteria, swinging her fist at her. She luckily caught it, turning her the opposite way and sending a strong kick to the amethyst's chest to knock her back. Peri had her eye locked on the amethyst's arm, and when the quartz was finally down, she let an arrow fly straight through. The amethyst slowly sat up, glaring at peri and wisteria, then seeing the arrow in her arm.
"Dam you pearl-" the rebel then poofed, her gem landing on the floor. After catching her breath, wisteria bubbled the gems and had the topaz's hold on to them.

"The transfer will be safer this way. Let's get going." She said as she de summoned her taser. Peri de summoned her bow and followed along, still shaken up a bit.

"You alright there?" Wisteria looked down at peri as they walked.
"I'm alright thank you. That was intense!"
"Tsk. That was the easiest encounter I have experienced."
"Easy?" Peri said surprised,
"Absolutely. They were poofed less than five minutes. Usually it takes a good 20 minutes to beat two rebels at once if they aren't on the run."
"And how long does it take if they are on the run?"
"Ehh.. depends how skilled they are I suppose." The entrance door swiftly opened, revealing the ship dock farther ahead. When they got to her ship, wisteria had the bubbles placed in the back. Peri began the lift off, and zoomed into the black void.
"where to now?"
"We are going to the stellar station."
"Understood wisteria."
