Jayson lied on his bed, thinking. He couldn't stop thinking about the screams of the D-Class, his body shivering slightly. He didn't want to kill them, but he knew that would make it the last time he had to kill something, giving him at least a little hope. As he staired at the ceiling, he kept thinking about the brighter side. After all, he has all he wanted. To be isolated, away from anyone and anything. No chance to hurt any living thing again. He closed his eyes, hoping to get any sleep after that slaughter.

Bryson watched the camera in a loop, watching the slaughter over and over. Even though he didn't want to, he had to understand every tiny detail about Jayson. Especially that strange form. He watched as Jaysons body seemed to evolve from a small boy. Though, the more he watched, the more confused he became. It shouldn't be possible for a normal human. Then again, nothing in the foundation is normal. Suddenly, he heard a door behind him slam shut, along with the sound of someone losing their balance and a trash can tipping over, along with a groan of embarrassment. Bryson sighed, knowing that groan anywhere.

Bryson: Amber...

A girl behind him chuckled a bit, more embarrassed.

Bryson: Did you sneak in the trunk of my car again?
Amber: Uh... no, this is all in your head. You've just been working a bunch and need to sleep. Now sleep... sleep...
Bryson: Amber...
Amber: Alright, alright, yes. But come on, Dad, after hearing your phone call yesterday I just had to see the new monster!
Bryson: Amber, you need to stop taking so many risks. The first time you did this, we were both lucky to not be killed there. You're lucky you want to take my place one day.
Amber: Hell yea, I do! So, can I see the new monster? Pleeeeeeease!?

Amber kept lightly tugging on Bryson's  lab coat.

Bryson: I don't think that's a good-
Amber: PLEEEEEEEEASE!?
Bryson: Alright, alright. If you say so.

Bryson rewinded the tape to just before the D-Class entered the room. Amber watched the recording as the D-Class started to shove the kid around.

Amber: So...

Amber paused the tape.

Amber: What exactly am I looking at, here?
Bryson: Well, his name is Jayson. We brought him here because we found video evidence of him killing two teenage boys in the streets of New York City. He claims that he changes when he gets angry, and...

Bryson unpaused the video, showing Jayson as he transformed. Amber watched in amazement, before she realized something.

Amber: Hold on...

She paused the video again.

Amber: He doesn't want to.
Bryson: What?
Amber: Look at his eyes.
Bryson: Yes, the ones that look like a straight beasts.
Amber: No, I mean into his eyes. You can tell he doesn't even want to hurt them. He must've realized that would be the only way he would get out of there.

Bryson chuckled slightly.

Bryson: You know... when this was over, he said almost the same thing.

Amber looked back at the screen.

Amber: I don't think he's a monster, he's just misunderstood.
Bryson: Well, that could very much be the case.
Amber: Can I... talk to him?

Bryson stepped back a bit.

Bryson: What!? Amber, with the state he's in I don't think he wants to see anyone.
Amber: Come on, Dad. I know you're just worried about me, but I know he won't hurt me.
Bryson: And how do you know that?
Amber: Because we both agreed that he didn't even want to kill the D-Class that pushed him into a beast state!
