Chapter 19 - The way I feel inside

After the way their lunch date had gone, both Meme Guardians were already preparing for more shenanigans coming their way.
So it didn't surprise them when they arrived at the movie theatre and found Melony sitting at the counter, half asleep, starring off into the distance.

As soon as SMG4 and SMG3 approached Melony tho, she quickly started to smile and greeted them cheerfully. "Hey guys! You're here!"

Out of all of SMG4's friends, Melony was one of the few that SMG3 actually kinda liked.
"Hey Melony. Let me guess; You're here because Meggy told you to pretend to work here so that you could watch after us?"

Whereas Tari and Saiko tried their best to deny their involvement in Meggy & Boopkins' plan, Melony couldn't be bothered to lie to them. "Yep, hehe. How was your lunch, by the way? Did it help with your string?" she asked, pointing at the red string around SMG3's finger.

SMG3 sighed and looked over at SMG4, who was busy squeezing some water out of his hat. They were both still a bit wet after running from the sprinklers in the restaurant but the sun had dried up most of their clothes.

"Well, lunch was.. something. And it didn't help with the string at all. It's still there, still phasing through walls and furniture, and still ANNOYING." He said, twirling the string around his hand.

"Hmm.. well maybe watching this movie will help?" Melony pulled out two tickets from the cash register.

SMG3 took a second to think.
After the chaos that was their lunch, sitting down and watching something DID seem like a relaxing and nice idea. And maybe, after they've both calmed down a bit they can get a chance to talk.
SMG3 still needed to ask Four the question that's been on his mind all day.
The one he tried to ask during the restaurant;
Would SMG4 also like to go on Dates with him even without the red string?

He turned towards Melony again.
"Maybe.. So, what Movie did Meggy have planned for us?"
"It's called The Masquerade" She handed SMG3 the two tickets. "It's one of the most popular romance movies at the moment, hehe!"
"Romance, huh?" SMG4 had finished drying himself off as best as he could and was standing next to SMG3 now. "Can't say I watch a lot of these kinds of movies, but this could be fun I guess" he said, while taking one of the tickets SMG3 was holding.

"Well, anything can be fun with the right company, right?" SMG3 said, avoiding SMG4's eyes. He wanted to know if SMG4 felt the same way as him, if SMG4 considered him to be the right company for movie dates, but asking directly was still a bit embarrassing.

Sadly, SMG4 was too distracted with the tickets to hear what SMG3 had said.

"Hey, we got some pretty good seats!" SMG4 said, walking through the entrance. "Come on, Three. I wanna get some Popcorn before the movie starts! We didn't get ANYTHING to eat at Bowsers restaurant"

This dumbass. SMG3 sighed.
SMG4 hadn't heard what SMG3 had said, but someone else had.
"SMG3" Melony whispered "Do you actually.. like SMG4?" she asked, looking at SMG3 with big eyes.
"WHAT? NO? ME? LIKING THIS DUMBASS? I COULD NEVER??" SMG3 tried to protest but Melony's big, cute eyes forced him to be honest with her.
He made sure that SMG4 was truly out of earshot before turning to Melony and whispering back "Is it that obvious?"

"A bit, yeah." She giggled. "Just tell him! What's stopping you?"
SMG3 looked at the string on his hand. "I just- I just don't know if he likes me back, you know? Like.. REALLY likes me back."
He raised his hand to show Melony the string. "Destiny apparently thinks we're perfect for each other but I just.. I just wanna know what HE thinks. I can't confess until I know he likes me too. I don't wanna risk our friendship... OR risk him making a 'Love confession fail' video about me for his stupid Youtube Channel" he scoffed.
