The life of Mavis Henderson was always described in three words. Hectic ,Unforgiving and most of all, Traumatizing. Being born the daughter of both a legacy and a killer had its price. A mother who was absent for weeks at a time off to who knows where for only god knows how long with the occasional check in. A serial killer father who was expelled from life by his half sister because his mother couldn't keep her legs closed. Living the dream right?
The days when her mom would disappear though, she wouldn't just leave her with someone random or by herself. She wasn't that terrible. The only people she trusted with Mavis were her Aunts and Uncle.
Dwight Riley or Deputy 'Dewey' as everyone knew him. Mavis was the closest with Dewey considering she would always be with him or her Aunt Sid when her mom was gone. The man was like a second father to Mavis. He taught her how to ride a bike and how to drive. Mavis looked up to Dewey growing up, he was like the father that she missed in her life.

Mavis jerked up from her sleep, panting with sweat rolling down her face. Another nightmare. She can never escape them it seems. She quickly looked around assessing her surroundings seeing that she was still in the hospital. The ravenette's eyebrows furrowed together as she didn't see the older Carpenter sister anywhere or the boyfriend, but was disregarded of the thought as she felt a tug on her flannel. Glancing down, she saw a still sleep Tara on her chest. The older girl let out a small sigh of relief as she looked at the girl.
The brunette looked so peaceful in the moment, so calm like nothing around them was happening. The young Henderson took time to admire her features. Her soft brunette hair, her cute freckles that danced along the bridge of her nose and her soft pink lips. The lips she dreamed ever so often about kissing when she was with the girl. If only she knew.
The moment was cut short as her phone started ringing making Tara stir slightly, Mavis gently ran her fingers through the girl's brunette locks making her settle. The girl used her free hand, reaching for her phone seeing who was calling showing the caller ID 'My Fav Homo💙'
"What do you want, dumbass?" She answered, whispering into the phone. "Well damn, hello to you too." She could fell the eye roll from over the phone. "What do you want Minds?" She asked impatiently, waiting for a response. The Meeks-Martin girl chuckled at her best friend. "We need you to come to our place, everyone's over here." She announced, her voice somewhat serious.
The Henderson girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "What? Why?" She asked. "We'll explain when you get here." She answered vaguely. "Mindy that's not-" "LOVE YOU BYE!" She hung up before the older girl could even question her any farther making her release a heavy sigh. "That little shit.." She grumbled, placing her phone down and running her scarred fingers through her hair. She looked down at the Carpenter girl not wanting to wake her from the sleep that she knew she needed but she had to.
