The following morning, Jax wakes up to the sound of sizzling bacon and the smell of breakfast. Stretching his arms upward as he makes his way to the kitchen, he is greeted with the vision of Amaya in a yellow sundress, preparing the day's first meal. Jax walks up behind Amaya, hugging her tightly she smirks and says "Jax this is NOT what I came here for. I have a mission, and you're being a distraction.". With mischief in his voice, Jax responds, "Hey now! I'm just offering a little encouragement. Plus, you can't blame me, I've missed you all this time; all I want is an innocent hug.". Amaya turns facing Jax. "Listen Jeff, business first, pleasure later" as she smiles and turns back around to resume cooking.".
"Jax! Wake up, Jax. " Amaya shakes Jax awake.
Jax jumps up. "I'm woke, I'm woke. Huh?"
"Are you going to help me or not?" Amaya asks exacerbated..."Yeah. Sure. Of course." Jax says, jumping up.
Amaya looks down and chuckles. "You might, uh, want to handle that first.". Jax grabs a pillow, turning red with embarrassment as they hear a knock at the door.
"You get that, and I'll, uh, get this..." Jax says as he races to the bathroom, cursing under his breath. Amaya answers the door and is reunited with Kuasa.
"Grandmother!" she exclaims through tear stained eyes. Amaya embraces her and invites her in. Jax returns down the hall and offers the ladies coffee as they begin to formulate a plan to identify Mari's murderer. The first stop is the scene of the occurrence.
Exiting the house, Kuasa hops on her bike, Jax powers up taking flight, and Amaya activates the spirit of the cheetah on her totem, and they head back to the scene of Mari's untimely demise.
Arriving at the scene, the trio looks around, searching for clues. Amaya activates the elephant spirit in order to catch a scent she's successful but is struck with confusion..."This doesn't make sense."
"What?" Kuasa and Jax ask in unison. "Not sure yet. Let's keep searching. I just wish there was a way we could get a fingerprint." Amaya responds with a furrowed brow. Jax and Kuasa look at each other. Amaya notices "What?"
Jax explains, "We do this, this thing based on thermography. It's easier to just show you." With a glance and a nod towards Kuasa, Jax shoots a blast of fire directly above them, and Kuasa meets his fire with a column of water covering the area with water vapor "Well, take a look," Jax invites Amaya, who activates the lion spirit, allowing her to see on a superhuman spectrum, locating a fingerprint on a nearby pole. "I see something." she says, moving toward the pole as Jax and Kuasa smirk following her. Kuasa pulls out her phone and snaps a picture. "Here we go!" Jax says, rolling his eyes.
Confused, Amaya looks at Jax. "What?" she asks. "You'll see," Jax responds as a smile takes over Kuasas face while dialing a number. Amaya, who still has the lion spirit activated, easedrops on the conversation hearing a masculine voice.
"Yes, Oshun," the mystery voice answers.
Kuasa giggles, "Did you get it?"
"Analyzing now, I'll contact you with any results"...
