Anissa rushes into Freeland General Hospital, carrying a mangled; bloody mess of a body.
During her evening jog around Freeland point, she noticed a moan emanating from the bushes. Going in to investigate, she discovers a body of a young woman barely recognizable. Being a physician herself, she wasted no time in checking for any contusions and a possible broken neck. After determining the victim was safe to transport, Anissa picks her up and rushes to Freeland General, where she's a resident.
When she gets the entrance of the emergency room a nurse calls out "Code Blue, I need the emergency response team in the patient waiting area" A barrage of security guards, nurses and the surgeon on call rush to the waiting area. As Anissa relays what she knows, a nurse checks for a heartbeat, and the team rushes her to the back. Anissa paces in the waiting area, smoothing her hair to the back as memories Grace's accident flood her mind.
Four year's earlier, during their first anniversary, Grace and Anissa were heading home from Achasic Valley when they were suddenly blind sided. A Ford 450 hit them, trying to run a red light. Anissa was knocked unconscious but survived due to the involuntary activation of her powers at the last minute however Grace was not so fortunate. When Anissa came to, Grace was unconscious and bloody. Anissa cried in as loud a voice as she could muster. "Grace! baby, stay with me. It will be alright.". Grace moaned and moved her head, flirting with consciousness when a figure in a yellow suit with red eyes suddenly appeared and ripped Grace's heart out of her chest. Anissa screamed and freed herself, almost ripping their car in half, but it was too late the speedster left her alone...her lover forever lost to her. She still misses her soft touch.
After a few hours in the waiting room, Anissa finally gets word from the surgeon on staff, notifying her that the mystery woman is in stable condition.
While the surgeon is talking, two Freeland PD officers show up and ask questions about the person she brought in. After telling them what she knew, Anissa is told she is free to leave the hospital and heads home but not before leaving instructions with the nurse at the front desk that if anything happens, she is to be informed.
After reaching her apartment, Sandra (Anissa's A.I. assistant) informs her that she has 10 missed calls from Jennifer. Anissa sighs and dives on the couch. "Send her a text message 'I'm fine, I'll text you later'"
Anissa drifts off to sleep
