I woke up to the most annoying alarm clock in the world.

"Ugh" I mumbled. I rolled over and hit snooze.

I feel like I haven't gotten any sleep all night. Makes sense though, since I was up until 2 a.m. writing my stupid essay, for my stupid teacher, which was stupid because my stupid self was acting stupid and decided to challenge her. I stared up at the ceiling. But, I will show her I wrote the best damn essay she'll ever read.

Fully awake by my determination to see her face when I slap this essay down on her desk, I hop out of bed and start getting ready for school. First stop: bathroom. I brush my teeth and jump into the shower. 15 minutes later, I stood in front off the foggy mirror, towel around me, and start to comb out my dripping blonde waves. I then, go back to my room to get dressed. I pick out blue jeans and a black tank top from my closet. Putting on my red and black plaid shirt over it, I turn to check the time. 3:25 a.m.

"Impossible.." I whisper to myself.

It was just 6... The alarm went off! I blink. 3:26 a.m.

I grab my phone off the nightstand. 3:26 a.m. What the hell? I slowly sit on the edge of my bed and stare at my alarm clock. Well, I can't got back to sleep now.

Eventually, I fell asleep on the couch in the family room. The sound of the TV woke me up for the second time today. I looked up and the 6:00 news was on. Breathed a sigh of relief that I wasn't running late or anything. I checked my phone. 6:12 a.m. Since I had about 20 minutes until Cassandra picked me up, I decided to put a bit of make up on. Starting with some eye liner and finishing with mascara. I wanted to be sure that today went well.

From my room, I walked to the kitchen to grab a water and a granola bar to snack on. As I grabbed the water bottle I heard a car horn. I quickly closed the pantry door and, turned around. Clear in my view was the window that overlooked the backyard. The woods looked dark as night, even though it was daytime. A second push of the horn caught my attention. I diverted my attention to the TV and rushed and turned it off. I then, grabbed my bag off the kitchen table, left the house and made my way down the drive way to Cassandra's car.

"Hey." I said as I got in the car and shut the door.

"My parents are going out of town for the weekend. You should come over." It sounded like she had something planned.

"I'm sure it'll be okay with my parents." I said. I ripped open my granola bar and took a bite.

"Good." She smiled and started driving.

"What do you have planned?" I asked and furrowed my brows.

"Oh.. Just a small party.." She said quietly.

I set my granola bar down. She can't be serious. "Cassie.. No. I'm not coming."

"What? Why! You never go to any parties."

"Because I don't like being around people. I'm just not a people person. I can't believe you had the nerve to ask me to come to a party." I rolled my eyes.

"I asked you because it's my party Brek. I want to show you a good time. Every time I go out I don't have much fun because I don't have my best friend with me. It would be a great experience for you! You need to let loose and just party... make new friends." She said while turning onto the back road that led into town.

I shook my head. "I'm fine with you just being my friend. Either way I don't know how to party and, what will I tell my parents? I'm going to a party to turn up and won't be home until late? Yeah. That's stupid." I said.
