Bowser lay upon his throne, his mind preoccupied with his latest scheme to take over the Mushroom Kingdom. Suddenly, the doors to his castle burst open and in strode his long-time rival, Mario. Bowser sat up, surprised to see his nemesis standing before him. "What do you want, Mario?" he growled. Mario approached him, a look of determination on his face. "I have a proposition for you, Bowser," he said, his voice firm. "One that could benefit us both." Bowser narrowed his eyes suspiciously. He had heard similar offers from Mario before, and they always seemed to end in a battle. But there was something different about the plumber's demeanor this time, something that made Bowser willing to hear him out. Bowser snorted in disbelief. 

"I highly doubt that, Mario. You and I have always been enemies."

"True, but hear me out," Mario replied. 

"I know how much you want to rule over the Mushroom Kingdom, and I also know how much you desire to marry Princess Peach."

Bowser's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "What are you getting at, Mario?"

"I'm offering you a deal," Mario said, a sly grin crossing his face. "You can have the Princess as your bride, but in exchange, you have to leave the Mushroom Kingdom alone. No more abductions, no more attacks, nothing. You stay in your kingdom, and we stay in ours."

Bowser considered the proposal carefully. He had long coveted Princess Peach, and the idea of ruling over the Mushroom Kingdom was tantalizing. But could he really give up his dream of total conquest?"And why should I trust you, Mario?" Bowser asked, his voice dripping with skepticism.
