(Picture of Tessa)
I woke up dreading the day. My routine morning flew by and before I knew it I was walking to school. I prayed the whole way that I would go unnoticed today. I made it to the front of the school when I saw Tessa by the door, pacing. She looked up and saw me. She quickly put on a smile on her face and ran to me.
"Hey! Lexi! What a gorgeous day today, wanna skip and go to the beach? Get our tan on, watch the bare chested hunks? C'mon what do you say!?" She said a bit too cheery.
"I wish I could, but I actually have a few exams today... and... plus.. you know... it's October." I said taking a few steps towards the school. She jumped in front of me again.
"Even more reason to skip, we can study together at the cafe and we'll nail those retakes." She said even more suspiciously.
"What's going on?" I asked lifting an eyebrow and she frowned.
"They didn't forget." She said disappointedly.
That's when I looked around and saw most people looking at me laughing. I looked at Tessa but she looked down, not wanting to explain what she meant. I walked to the school, Tessa was on my heels.
"They're assholes, Lexi. Don't let them get to you." She said as I climbed the steps and walked inside. All eyes on me, I noticed to my horror pictures of me covered in milkshake, a shock look on my face, written in big black letters LOSER, taped on every locker, door and wall. I scanned the people laughing, most of them holding their own copy of my humiliation captured on camera.
I did the only thing I could do. I ran. I ran into the closest bathroom as people laughed and clapped their hands. I ran into the stall locking behind me as tears ran down my face. I sat on the toilette and held my breath, holding in a sob.
"Guys! Quick!" Someone said and everyone rushed out.
I let a sob escape and took in a deep breath. I shakily exhaled and hiccuped another breath in. I forced myself not to lose my shit in the stall. Once I had my breathing back to normal, the bell rang. I rolled out some toilet paper and wiped my tears. I got up and threw the paper in the small trash can and took a few breaths before I opened the tall door. To my relief no one was there. I walked over to the sink and turned on the water, splashing water on my face a few times. I reached to the brown paper and pulled out a few sheet and dabbed my face. I looked at my red face and hoped it would fade quickly. I waited for the second bell, making sure everyone was in class so I didn't have to face any of them. I took a quick look over myself and brushed down my button down blouse. I pulled the heavy door and looked right, no one was there, left, my eyes widened as they met a bloody Jaden, wiping his cut lip. It wasn't only the lip though, he seemed to have a bloody nose and swelling over his left eye.
"Let go of me!" I heard Ace roar and my heart stopped.
"Both of you! My office! Now!" Yelled Principal Wilson, a tall beefy bald man, who was holding Ace back with all his might. Ace quickly backed away getting out of M. Wilson's grip and lifted his arms. The later grabbed onto Jaden and pushed him towards the main entrance, Ace started ripping the pictures of me off the walls as he followed them around the corner and out of sight.
I quickly went to my locker and grabbed my English textbook and notepad, shut it back and made my way to English class. I knocked dreading facing my classmates. The teacher opened the door and frowned without saying anything then moved so I could walk in. I guess she also saw the many pictures of my Friday night. I walked in, glanced at the class and quickly did a double take. This time, no one dared make eye contact with me. It was even more weird.
"Miss Stone please take a seat." Miss Willow asked nicely and I obeyed.
I quickly got onto the right page and forced myself to keep focus on the lesson. The bell rang too soon for my liking and I seriously debated on staying or just calling it quits and go home. Either way I had to leave the classroom. I walked quickly to my locker avoiding eye contact with anyone. I noticed as I got to the main hall, the pictures were taken down and I sighed in relief. I quickly changed my books for science and almost ran back upstairs and into my next class. Twenty minutes later the second bell rang and I got to work. After I had finished my test, I dared to take a look around. As soon as I made eye contact with the others they would either look away or give me small smile before looking away. I wondered what had happened. Well it was obvious that Jaden and Ace we're into a fistfight. I couldn't help but wonder if it was related to the pictures or... maybe Rachel, since she had been seen flirting with Jaden in the past. The teacher picked up our test off our desk and the bell rang.
