Lighting another cigarette I look down at the world beneath me. The lights of the city where aglow tonight. I could hear the faint sound of Sail by AWOLNATION being played in the distance. The sent of nicotine, booze, and sex felled the air around me. I kicked the can that had showed up under my foot. Watching as it rolled down the mountain I stand on. This earth was dirty polluted by the humans that where given the honor of taking care of it. Animals lay dead in the streets and all I could do was sit back and watch it all happen.
Another sound captures my attention a moan of a woman not so far away. I glace over at the blue Trans that had just pulled to a stop only hours ago. The movement tells me all I needed to know, the foggy windows as the bodies inside become one.
It was time for me to leave the city, she was no longer here. I couldn't sense her anymore not close by. I could tell she was still living and that she was not in any danger at this time. But I couldn't feel her as I once had when I had woken up outside the house we use to shear.
"Orion you ready" I ask as I get into the back seat beside my friend Malachi.
"Yes sir"
"Where are we headed sir" Malachi asked
I have asked them a number of times to call me by name but both of them refuse. Telling me that they think to highly of me to do such thing.
"The century, I think we'll start in Tennessee. I haven't been there in a long time" I tell them
"Very will sir, is there any place particularly" Orion asked
"Not at this time Orion"
"Will find her again sir we always do" Malachi tells me
"Yes I know, sometimes I wish it wasn't destined" I tell them looking out the window
"Do you not love her the same anymore" Orion asked as he pulled away from the spot where we where parked.
I looked over at him from the backseat my eyes on him in the mirror "I will always love her no matter what. We are soulmates, I am just so tried Orion, I am ready to die. I wish sometime" I say looking back out the window "someone would just take a stake and stab me right in the heart."
"You long for peace" Malachi says
"I do so desperately,"
"Has it ever happened" Orion asked
"What someone stab me" I ask looking at the back of his head now
"Yes"
"It has and I lived because of the cruise. Until it is lifted I am doomed to walk this human infested world"
"You have grown mad in your old age Strix" Malachi tells me
"Yes, I have I am sorry guys. Let's fine Valentine see what kind of trouble she is getting into this time"
Orion smiles from the front seat probably thinking about the first time he met Valentine. She was a hooker living in an old apartment building. She had offered her services to him. Oh the things she has done.
"Maybe it's not too bad" he say
"Just pray she's over the age of sixteen this time round." Malachi says
"It wasn't all that bad, she could have been older like in her fiftys" Orion says
"We are not talking about her age, if you haven't forgotten I am half a century old so any age she is will be young then me" I tell them
"Do people that old still have sex"
I look at him for awhile "hush your mouth and drive"
"I'm just wondering"
