Pulling up at the club, my club the one I own. I scanned the parking lot. Taking in the sent of the nights air. I can already smell the scent of bodies sweating against each other. Hear the sound of their hearts beating to the rhythm of the music. One scent captured my attention.

No this couldn't be, I had already given up on trying to save her. My dead heart hurt just thinking about the last time. Why am I damned to walk this earth for eternity without the woman I love.

The scent passes and I continue into the club. And once again her perfume surrounds me. For years I have searched for her and now she just happens to show up at my club. I scanned the crowd. It's all in vain maybe I'm losing it.

"Gin and Tonic sir" Dee the bartender asked.

I look over at him "Yes that'll be fine" I take a seat at the bar. Pulling my fingers through the beard I have grown out. "How is everything going tonight Dee" I ask him.

"The same Ol thing boss" he tells me handing me a drink.

The sound of a woman giggling has me looking back out at the room full of dancers. "She's here"

"Excuse me sir" Dee asked.

I shake my head "keep my tap open Dee."

"Yes sir"

I step away from the bar and the blond headed guy behind it. My eyes staying on the people in front of me. I had not imagined it I heard her sweet laughter. I could feel that old feeling coming back to me once again that feeling that I had felt so long ago that feeling that I had tried so hard to suppress but her sweet smile haunts my dreams and hearing her laugh again brought back the hope that we could be together again.

In the midst of the bodies that tangled together I find her. Long black hair sway back and forth as her own body presses up against the stranger she dances with. I don't let this anger me I have seen her dance with many men before. What I do is make my way toward the couple getting as close as I can so I could hear what they were saying.

"You should go home with me" the guy was telling her.

"Should I" she asked him, and I hear a playfulness to her tone.

It was a playfulness that I had heard before, one that she had used on me before.

"Yes, we could go somewhere more privet maybe get something more to drink" he tells her

I think it's time to make my move before he takes my Valentine home with him. Side stepping, and making it look like an accident i bump into the guy trying to steal my woman. He looks up at me as I look at him.

"Excuse me sir sorry, I didn't see you there" I say apologetic.

"Do I know you" Valintine asks her eyes so bright looking up at me.

I give her a smile "I think you do."

She tilts her head to the side trying to figure out where we had meet before. It has been years, but it only felt like yesterday to me. "What is your name?" she asked.

"Strix"

"I thought you were going with me" the guy that she had been dancing with interrupted us.

"I changed my mind" she tells him.

"What" he asks like he didn't hear her.

"She changed her mind" I told him again.

"I was talking to her not you" he says, and I could tell he was getting angry.

My eyes still on Valentine I offer her a hand "You care to dance with me" I ask.

She smiles and what heart I have left melts into a puddle. "I would be honored to."
