She flinched as I touch her face, pushing her black hair behind her ear I see what I need to see. The two red marks that tell me all I need to know "Your dreams are very much real Valentine" I tell her
She covers the love bits turning to me "What do you know about my dreams"
I smile "I know you dream of indian summers, sleeping naked with the windows open" I tell her her eyes are wide knowing I know "Children laughing, and..."
"Stop" she tells me a tear slips down her eyes "How do you know this"
"I know you more then I know myself"
"How"
"The only way I can tell you that is by showing you."
"And if I say no"
"We'll take you somewhere safe, and this will all seem like a dream to you"
"If I say yes"
"We go home and I will show you everything you need to know"
"Where is home" she ask
"Not far from here, it's not much now but back in the day you kept it clean and beautiful" I smile as I remember the way it was
"You're not trying to trick me" she ask
My eyes find hers "You can leave anytime you want. I won't force you to stay"
She nods then look ahead of her "I really don't have anything to lose if I go but my life"
"You would be dead now if that were the case" Malachi says I hit the back of his seat "sorry sir"
"He speaks truth though" I tell Valentine "If we wanted you dead do you think we would have heald on to you this long"
She nods looking ahead of her thinking. I could almost see the wheels in her head turning "I can leave anytime"
"You're not a prisoner Valentine, you're free to come and go as you please"
"Sir" Orion says
"Hold on" I tell him
"Sir"
"I know Orion hold on" I tell him again "I hate to rush but we need an answer now"
She nods her head "Ok" she barely whispers
"Take us home Orion" I tell him then reach over across Valentine so she doesn't slide forward as we make a sharp turn not to miss our road.
"That was cutting it short" Malachi says
I smark at that, I watch Valentine as she leans against the seat. A shiver goes though her small frame "Trun the heat on Malachi" I tell him
She peeps at me from under her lids. "Thank you"
"Do you need anything" I ask
"I...no" she says
"Valentine don't be afraid to ask for something. We are here to help you"
"I'm a little hungry" She says so low I question if she said it at all
"Orion take us somewhere we can eat" I tell him
"I left my stuff at the house" she says
I smile "I'll get you new stuff"
She truns toward the window "I got my period," she says in another whisper I see tears as they slid from her eyes.
"We'll stop at a store first then" I say knowing Orion would hear me. "Is that what the fight was about"
She whipped her tears and smiles even though it doesn't reach her beautiful eyes "He thinks I use it as an excuse not to" She stops "never mind, I don't know why I told you that much"
