"Get up." A guard says, pushing my back with the barrel of a gun. We were so close to leaving the store we aimed at when guards came out of nowhere. I couldn't use my mind control because a bag was draped over my head before I could even turn around. I heard Amber call out and the lamps exploding, probably Darren's doing but then muffled screams were heard and I was placed in a vehicle. Amber beside me and Darren in front of me.
I can't stop thinking about Emily and Jeremy back at the house. It's still early and I don't know if they'd even notice that we're gone before tomorrow. And they can't just leave either, because they have to wait for the other gold to arrive. We're screwed, and dead not to mention.
"Why can't we just kill them like everyone else with a disorder?" the person driving asks, not caring that we may be blindfolded but I can still hear every word they're saying. Idiots.
"The boss found out something incredible. They're to be taken to the new lab, not too far from here." I can hear the smile in his voice. They're enjoying this. After the pandemic broke out, people changed. Someone became a better person wanting to help everyone, and others became worse. Only thinking about themselves and how to survive. I think that their inner self came out once their life was at stake.
The car stops and we're dragged out. I can't see anything which makes it difficult to know where we are and how many and who is around.
Being pushed forward I see no other choice than to move my feet in whatever direction I'm being guided in. Trusting blindly that I won't run into something or someone. After walking past what I can only assume to be a door, the guards leave, and I'm left alone. Reaching for my blindfold I pry it off, seeing that I'm in a cell of some sort.
Looking to my left I can see both Amber and Darren. To my right, there's a woman and a man. I knock on the glass to get their attention and the woman's head snaps up in my direction.
I point towards my head while glowing with my eyes and she does the same. Her eyes being blue.
"Do you know who the other man behind you is?" I ask her in her head. She looks a bit confused before realization comes to her. Looking behind me, Amber and Darren are passed out. I don't know what happened to them though,
"Yes, we've been here for a while. They just took another blue in a couple of days ago. I haven't seen him since. Umm, do you know those who came with you?" she points behind me and I nod, comfortingly.
"Yes, they're my friends, companions. We were going on a supply run. It's me, Austin, the man's name is Darren, he's gold and the woman is Amber, and she's green. I know a red one named Emily, and another blue one named Jeremy. We're five and I think by now another gold would have appeared at the house we're staying at too." That's a lot of information and she takes a while thinking it over.
"I'm Jody, I'm blue too. The man behind me is Jacob. He's orange like you. Or I think you're orange as we're talking in my head." I can see her giving me a small smile. I look around, not noticing any guards. Hearing a knock from behind me I turn around facing Amber and Darren who has now woken up.
"Hey guys, I'm working on a way out. The woman behind me is Jody, she's blue and the man is Jacob and he's orange like me. As soon as he wakes up we'll start planning our way out. They took a blue one a couple of days ago, meaning they're probably coming for one of us next. Try to stay alive." Both of them nods and I turn back around towards Jody.
"Can you try to wake him up? I sort of have a plan, I'm figuring it out." She nods, hitting at the glass, and he stirs. We wait for him to wake up a little and his eyes light up and I assume he's talking to Jody.
The orange looks at me and nods. He's in. I'll need a diversion and probably a map of the place to manage to get out as fast as possible. This won't be easy.
