Chapter 12

"Ms. Irish, why would you use your engagement with Mr. Simon to achieve your goal?"

"Did you get engaged with Mr. Simon so that you can debut as an idol?"

"A lot of people hated you, how would you make it up to them?"

"Mr. Simon, do you think it is still necessary to continue your engagement with Ms. Irish?"

"Mr. Simon, don't you think it's unfair?"

"Mr. Simon, how do you feel being manipulated?"

"Ms. Irish do you even have any conscience?"

"Shouldn't you guys just cut off the engagement?"

"Ms. Irish—- jeid didkelkeksjs—"

"Mr. Simon—-usujekekdjd djd jej—"

Right after both of them entered the venue for the press conference, the media and reporters started to act crazy and throw any questions they wanted to ask. The whole place is in chaos as the security and staff are having a hard time controlling the crowd. None of them expected this kind of scene as they made sure to only let the media participate who are professionals. But it seems that the issue of the two idols will make everyone forget their professionalism. More like they permit those people who paid more without any proper orientation and screening 

Both Irish and Simon stood in front of everyone as they watched them desperate for answers. They are not even thinking if they should ask their questions or at least be considerate. A minute has passed but the media is still not under control. Getting impatient and irritated, Irish grabbed a mic from the table—

"Silence!" She ordered with full authority making everyone fall in silence. They all looked at the direction of the soloist idol as they settled down. Simon curved his lips secretly while standing proudly next to Irish "What do you think y'all are doing?! Creating chaos just because you're desperate?!... Acting unprofessional and stupid! If that's the case then there's no press conference! All of you get out of my sight!!!" Irish voice is too powerful and her demeanor dominates everyone inside the venue making them not go against her. None of them said any words as they all bowed their heads. Irish knitted her brows while showing to all of the people, especially those who are watching, that she's still the boss of herself, and can be their boss anytime she wants. Irish was just scolding them without showing any threats, but everyone still became afraid of her

"This is a press conference, you were hired to ask some questions for us to answer and clarify regarding the issue. Since y'all are here, we are experiencing you to act professionally. But I was wrong, it seems like all of you here are not professionals and don't have any decency. Y'all should just quit" Simon stated calmly while using mocking words. He even smiled to them, but instead of butterflies in the stomach, they all feel ashamed 

After some time of silence and observation, Irish and Simon sat on their perspective chair "Let's start" Irish declared. The chaotic and messy behavior of the people awhile ago changed. None of them made any unnecessary noise and just raised their hands, waiting to be called for them to ask questions. Whenever a teacher scolded their students in a proper way, they would behave immediately 

"The question is for you, Ms. Irish. You must be aware of your bad image publicly. They're all saying that you're a social climber and just using your engagement of Mr. Simon to debut as an idol. May we know your comment regarding this?" Irish gave her a nod as she get the mic to answer

"Thank you for behaving this time and as for my comment regarding what you've said, they can continue to see and call me a social climber. Actually, I didn't use my engagement with Simon to debut as an idol. The agency itself is not aware of our relationship, not even his band mates. Only me, Simon, and my manager are aware that we're engaged. We only revealed our engagement to the agency, especially to Mr. Kim, two days before the announcement" Irish simply replied

"Ammm. I wanna speak too, though that was for Irish, but I wanna add more. So, as we all know, everyone calls her a social climber. How could you call her a social climber when our engagement was being secret from anyone even after she debuted. Additionally, people loved her because of her music, not because she's engaged with me. Instead, she got hate right after you guys found out about our relationship. Please explain how she is a social climber? Irish may be fine being called a social climber, but I don't want anyone to call her names from nonsense speculation" although his voice is calm but you could visibly hear his distaste of the situation, especially to those people who act childishly. Irish chuckled lightly after hearing Simon's words. 

"How do you guys plan to resolve this issue? Knowing the fans of LX6, they are known to be possessive, and some of the people, even they are not fans, still act crazy for the disadvantage of an idol"

"We won't be doing any to resolve that issue" Irish answered. She really looks calm and composed despite her image being torn apart. Some of the people who are watching the live conference saluted Irish for her bravery. They started to admire the soloist as the press conference continued. Even though there are some who still comment negatively, others are protecting Irish, especially her friends and those groups of boys who became her brothers during her student life in the Philippines.

"Exactly. There's nothing for us to resolve. We announce our engagement for the awareness of everyone. That's all. Your opinion and permission is not needed. We are engaged, Irish is my fiance. Final!" Simon added sassily. Irish look at him with, you're unbelievable, expression as she laughs at Simon. They might be facing a problem right now but the two seem to enjoy their moment together. Seeing how amazing their bond is, people's hearts melted, especially the members of LX6, and their staffs.

"That means, you guys won't stop your engagement. Right?" 

"Why would we stop our engagement? To please the public? If I stop my engagement with Irish, should I propose to them then?" Simon mockingly asked. Irish secretly hit Simon's lap as she gave the crowd a smile

"I know the start of this mess is because you guys thought that I debuted under Simon's influence, although it might be a jealousy for the others, but now that we've clarified that issue, the only thing that is left is the possessiveness of Simon's fans. I'm sorry but I had Simon first so, I won't give him up" Irish teasingly answered while looking directly at the camera. The crowd made an 'ooh' sounds while Simon dramatically grabbed his chest

"Ms. Irish and Mr. Simon, what is the reason why you guys got into an arranged marriage? You've mentioned that you're already engaged even before you two were born. We are also aware that Simon came from an influential family. Is it related to business?" That question made the two of them froze on their seats but they didn't make it obvious to anyone. They immediately regain their composure

"That's confidential. We can't release any statement regarding that" Irish answered confidently. She noticed that the person beside her stiffened as his hands became cold. To calm him down, she held his hand and gave him a comforting smile. The people saw this moment of them making one of the media postulate a question in a statement form

"You two surely are in love with other base on your answers" this time, both Irish and Simon stared at each other for a seconds before they return their attention to the crowd

"In love? We are not in love" Everyone in the venue fell in silence "We are just comfortable with each other because we've known each since we were kids" Irish added. No one and literally no one made any sounds as they were all too stunned to speak. Even the viewers and the people in Entertainment agency were speechless
