Paige had accidentally fell down a rabbit hole last night called Delilah Sinclair's instagram account. She just had the idea to check the account one time to see if the blonde volleyball star still had pictures of the two of them tougher on her page. She was surprised to find she did but Delilah probably didn't want the fans to speculate anything so she just let the photos stay up.
But one post quickly became all of them. Her commitment to Minnesota pictures, Dinner dates with her older sister, a picture of her and Jalen from his last high school game. It was all still there from before the two had both unfollowed the other, thinking no one would notice.
But Paige also couldn't take her eyes off of Delilah's new posts. She looked the same but also so much older then she was the few months ago before everything over time came crashing down on the twelve year long friendship. She looked so mature. So, fake.
Paige couldn't help the thought escape her mind and felt bad as soon as it did but it was true. There was something different about the way she smiled and looked. Not only was it the maturity thing but Delilah just looked drained. And it was probably Paige's fault. Or at least she knew it was.

"Do you wanna spend winter break with my family this summer?" Delilah smiled at the offer from Magnolia as they stood in line at a frozen yogurt shop. Honestly she hadn't thought about what she was going to do this winter break. Usually she just stayed at the Bueckers for the entirety of the time but now for obvious reasons she couldn't do that.
"Sure, i'm sure my parents won't mind." Delilah agreed. "Yay, i'm thinking about buying tickets for like the day after finals so that we can be in Connecticut for Aliyah's last game before winter break." Delilah nodded along, acting as though Maggie's words didn't affect her.
She had forgotten Maggie's family lived in Connecticut. Paige lives in Connecticut. It's fine though, the only chance of the two seeing each other would be at the game then Paige would be going home for the break. Right?
"Then we're all going to Colorado to ski, that's why I invited you. Mom called me after practice today and asked if I wanted to invite a friend because Aliyah got to invite a friend."
Delilah nodded. "Got it." She was genuinely excited. Besides the fact that she was going to r embarrass herself in front of Maggie's family on the slopes.
The bueckers had taken her along when they went skiing one year and it was definitely not pretty.
Paige had called her a domino because one time she was trying to get onto the tram but fell off at the last minute because she lost her balance and took out almost ten people by falling straight down the hill. It was bad. Really bad.
Finally the two girls made it to the front of the line and weighed their frozen yogurt then paid. They probably shouldn't be eating like this and if the trainers asked if they did they would probably have to lie but frozen yogurt was worth it.
"Did you know I worked in a frozen yogurt shop when I was in high school?" Delilah asked suddenly as the two of them sat down at one of the tables in the shop.
Maggie gasped. "Ain't no way." Delilah laughed and nodded her head. "Here I have pictures, hold on." She snorted and pulled out her phone to find pictures.
"I look like i'm a unicorn on the way to a fruit festival." Sixteen year old Delilah Sinclair groaned as she stood in her bedroom, staring herself down in the mirror.
