THE FEELING OF MISSING SOMEONE WAS A HARD PILL TO SWALLOW. Delilah had gotten used to never seeing Paige in collage because she had to. They weren't friends so it wasn't easy but it was easier. But now she was struggling much worse then before. Her and Paige weren't friends. They were more. So being nineteen hours away naturally hurt more.
Long distance hurt like a bitch.
Delilah was in the off-season right now so she had a lot more time off. Whereas Paige was in the middle of her season so she had no time to spare.
But time had never been a huge factor in their relationship before and it wasn't now. The two could go months without talking and they would still come back the same. That kind of love can't be taken away by a few hours of radio silence.

THERE WAS A LOT OF MOVEMENT ON MY side of the phone as Paige answered the call after the first ring. She was lying on her bed. She looked tired. Definitely just got back from practice.
I couldn't help but notice as her face seemed to lit up as I set my phone up on the kitchen sink, finally visible.
"Hey how was your day?" I asked, initiating the conversation. Paige smiled before shrugging. She was definitely tired. I could tell by the yawn. "Nothin much, just got back from practice. Wanted to call you, like always. What'd you do?"
I mimicked her shrug. What even did I do today? Woke up. Went to class. Went to lunch with a few friends from class. Came home. Called Paige.
"I made a few new friends in class today. We went to lunch." I told her about the most interesting thing. She smiled like it was the most interesting thing she had heard all day making me blush unwillingly. This girl.
My girl
"That's cool. How's mags?" She asked. Maggie was my roommate so we knew pretty much everything about each other. The only thing I had ever withheld telling her was about Paige before the ski trip. We all know how that turned out.
"She's good. Think she's planning on visiting you guys soon. Heard her on the phone with Nika last night."
Paige let a knowing smile hold a place on her lips making me look at her confused. "What?" I asked. "Nothing." She answered. Way to quickly if I'm being honest.
"Paige Maddison Bueckers you tell me what you know right now." Paige shook her head. Mimicking a locking motion on her lips. "Can't."
"OH MY GOSH!" Paige groaned into her pillow. I'm way to good at figuring things out. The goat I must say. "Is there something going on between them?"
Her silence was my answer.
"Oh my gosh!"
"I wasn't supposed to tell anyone! They haven't even told Aliyah. Maggie doesn't even know I know, if she did then you would definitely have known by now."
I couldn't help but smile excitedly pacing around my kitchen. "We can all go on double dates!" This was amazing.
Speaking of the devil herself Maggie bursted through out front door not even a minute after me and Paige stopped talking about her and her situationship.
