December 2035-Ha Joon's POV-
"Appa, get ready. Eomommy's arriving there anytime now." I get excited when I hear my daughter say those words through the phone.
I have been waiting at the airport for about an hour now. My kids and I planned a surprise trip for their mom.
I saw a very familiar silhouette from a distance and I know that gait very well. Only my wife could walk like there is an invisible red carpet on the ground. She oozes a glowing elegance that catches people's attention. Even in sixties, she's still effortlessly drop dead gorgeous.
"Hello beautiful." Once she is within my reach, I greet her with a kiss on the lips and put my arm around her waist.
She beams at me but furrows her brows upon noticing that I am alone.
"Where are the kids?" Well our kids are not just kids anymore but we like calling them as if they are still five-year olds. Seo-jin is pursuing a career in engineering while our twins are both enrolled at university, with Ji-yoo studying fashion design and Ji-woo taking the path of music conservatory.
"They couldn't make it, they're too busy now."
She glares at me. I'm caught so I just smile broadly at her. "Ha Joon, what are you planning this time?"
"Relax your pants, yeobo. We're going somewhere over the rainbow." I throw a line from a famous song and laugh lightly at my own joke. She pinches my side but I see a hint of smile from the corners of her lips while she scrunches up her nose. She's trying too hard to look serious. How I love those creases on her nose bridge whenever she makes facial expressions. God, I love this woman, my wife, my life.
"You're aging backwards, Ha Joon. You need to stop watching those stand up comedians on Netflix." She's right, maybe it's time to get a new hobby. Ever since we retired, I allot a little time to watch those and somehow absorb their jokes, and whenever I throw them at my wife and kids, I just get solid groans and eye rolls.
"But you secretly like it, don't you, yeobo?" I tease and slightly tickle her side while we're walking to board the plane.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever makes you sleep at night." She says playfully. I bring out our tickets and present it to the lady at the check-in desk.
I look at her to wait for her reaction once she sees our destination.
Her mouth drops open and brings her attention to me. She smiles widely, speechless.
I am bringing her back to where we first had our vacation as a couple. I'm sure this will bring back so many memories and I intend on making more with her in that place.
We take our seats and once we are up in the air, she hugs me from my side.
"Are you excited, yeobo?"
She looks up at me and grins from ear to ear. "Thank you, Ha Joon. I love you."
"And I love you more..." I kiss her lips and linger for a while. I pull away when someone clears their throat.
"Wine or champagne, sir?"
"Champagne, please.We are celebrating."
The lady smiles at us in admiration.
Once we have our glasses on hand, I raise mine and she tilts her glass towards me for a proper clink.
"To us..." I say contentedly.
