tw for self harm, alcohol use and child abuseStan awoke in his bed to sunlight shining down on him through his blinds. He squinted his eyes in hopes to block it out, but to no avail.
He was tangled in a comfortable mess, Stan's head rested lightly above Kyle's, and Kyle's face was buried into Stan' s chest. Stan's arms were wrapped around the red-headed boy's back, and their legs were intertwined. Stan smiled to himself, a warm feeling growing in his chest. Even though he'd been waking up like this every day they spent together, Stan didn't think he'd ever get used to how happy it made him.
He heard Kyle stir lightly in his sleep, and felt his eyes blink open on his chest. Then, he watched as Kyle maneuvered himself out of their cozy position very slowly and subtly, as if he was trying not to wake Stan up. But, they locked eyes as he was still in the progress of sitting up.
"Oh, you're awake already." He said simply. A smile creeped up on his face. "Surprise." He muttered in return, stretching his arms as he turned to lay flat on his back. Kyle giggled at this, before standing up from the bed. "Gotta piss, I'll be right back." Kyle said after yawning. Stan just threw a thumbs up at him, and then covered his face with his hoodie sleeve. His dark brown eyes stung from lack of sleep, and he wondered how early it was. He reached over to his nightstand, grabbing his phone and yanking the charger out.
9:26 A.M.
Stan hated waking up early. Probably since he was an extreme insomniac and never slept. But, he also was not a morning person. He preferred to just stay in bed until the afternoon, unless forced out of his comfort by his parents.
Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Kyle stared at himself in the mirror, squinting his eyes at all his imperfections on his face and body. His face and body was completely scattered up and down and all around with freckles, and when he was younger he had a bad problem with acne. So, there were a few scars from that on his forehead and his cheek. Luckily, he had a lot of hair that could hide it.
His hair, oh don't even get him started. He hated it. It was a hassle to wash and comb out and style and just do anything. The only reason he hasn't shaved it clean off yet is because he knows how disappointed his parents would be if he did.
Kyle groaned mentally as he switched off the bathroom light and walked out. He glanced at the family photos on the wall, ones with Stan smiling and ones with his sister. In those ones, Stan seemed a bit on edge. Kyle also didn't notice how another person had walked into the hallway, standing next to him.
"Hey, stalker." Stan said, a smile heard in his voice. Kyle flinched when he heard him, but instantly laughed. "Jesus, dude. You scared the shit out of me." Stan giggled at this, tucking a strand of his short black hair behind his ear. Kyle smiled, and turned back to look at the family photos. "Do you know when your mom is getting back from her business trip?" Kyle asked, raising a brow.
Stan sighed, and shook his head. "No.. I really miss her, but im glad she's finally happy with the job she has, y'know?" He said with a sigh.
Kyle nodded, pulling him into a small hug. The red head knew how Randy would act sometimes when Sharon wasn't around, so he hopes the hug will comfort him. At least for a little while.
Once the hug breaks, Kyle feels his phone buzz in the side pocket of his pajama pants. He pulls it out and sees a text from his mother.
