Madison Laden (Destination Fear)

In Between

We are currently in between locations. I'm sitting in my bunk in the rv when Dakota comes up and sits on my bed beside me. "Whatcha doing?" he asks. 

"Texting my friends..." I trail off, looking at him suspiciously. "Cool." he says. He just keeps sitting there, so I go back to my phone, trying to ignore him. He sighs heavily, making me look at him. "Do you need something?" I ask. 

"No, not really. We're just bored out there." he says. "I knew you wanted something." I said. "No I didn't." he denies. "Yeah, you want me to go sit with you." "Maybe." he sighs out. "You're such a dork." I said. "I am not!" he yells and we laugh. 

I sigh before removing my comfy blanket from my legs and standing up. "Come on, dude." "Yay!" he yells like a child. I give him a look before we walk into the living area where the others are. "Hey! She's finally out of her cave!" Tanner yells and the other 2 look over. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." I say as I sit down on the couch next to Alex. 

"What do you guys want to do now?" Alex asks after a few minutes. "We could play games?" Tanner suggests. "I'm in." I say and the others all agree. 

*About 2 hours later*

"No! Fuck you dude!" I yell at Dakota as he laughs in my face. "Ha! I win!" "Yeah, 'cause you cheated, you cheater!" I shout. "I did not cheat, liar!" he shouts back. 

Out of the corner of my eye, I see the guys all have their phones out and are recording us. "You can't put a draw two on top of a draw two! It's against the rules!" I tell him. "Where? Where does it say that?" he asks in a funny voice, trying to make me break first and laugh. 

"Uno literally made a tweet saying you can't do that!" I told him, hearing the others chuckling at our little dispute. "I didn't see it, so it didn't happen." he says in a fake posh English accent, once again trying to make me laugh. 

The others finally all burst out laughing and I couldn't help but laugh once they did. Soon we were all rolling on the floor and in the seats, unable to control our laughter. "Oh my God!" I yell through a laugh. 

Once we collect ourselves, we all sit back down at the table and start another round of Uno. 

*A Couple More Hours Later* 

It's close to 11 o'clock at night now and we're all pretty tired. "I'm gonna go ask the driver if we're close to the hotel." Dakota says and gets up to go to the front of the rv. 

He comes back and sits down next to me. "He said we're about 30 minutes away." "Finally!" Tanner exclaims before we all get up to get our stuff that we'll need for the night. 

After 30 minutes, we reach the hotel we're staying at for the night before we get back on the road to whatever the next location is. We walk in and go up to the desk to book some rooms. I don't know why, but Dakota didn't have the bright idea to call ahead and get rooms, but whatever. 

"Hi, we need 3 single rooms and one double room." he tells the clerk. He nods and gives him the keys. Dakota thanks him before we walk away from the desk. He turns to me. "Do you want to room with me or Chels?" I think for a minute before looking back at him, seeing him doing a cute face with puppy eyes. 

"You, you dork." I said. He cheered and gave the others their keys and we walked on the elevator. We were all on the same floor, so Tanner pushed the 15th floor button and we started going up. 

We got to the floor and went to our rooms, ready to get some sleep. "I'm going to get a shower before I go to sleep, okay?" Dakota says and I nod. He takes his stuff to the bathroom and shuts the door before I hear the water start running. I quickly put my PJs on before he comes back and I climb in one of the beds and lay down. 

Before I can fully fall asleep, my phone starts ringing. "Hello?" I ask, sleepily. "Oh, sorry, did I wake you up?" I hear Hunter ask. "No, no you didn't. I'm just laying in my hotel room, waiting on Dakota to get out of the shower." I tell him. "Oh, well, how are things going?" he asks. "Good. We're taking a break tonight before we head back out tomorrow afternoon for the last location of this trip and then in a few weeks we'll be going back on the road for the second half of this season." I tell him. 

"That sounds good. Can't wait to have you back here for a couple weeks." Hunter says. "Yeah, I can't wait to be back either. How are things back at home?" I ask him. "Yeah, things are good. We had our last day of school today so summer starts tomorrow." he says. 

We talk for about 20 more minutes before Dakota comes out of the bathroom, looking more tired than when he went in, and honestly I'm about to pass out while I'm on the phone. "I gotta go, but I'll talk to you later, okay?" I say. "Okay, I love you. I'll talk to you later." he responds. "Okay, I love you too. See you later." I say before I hang up. 

"Who was that?" Dakota asks as he sits on the other bed. "Hunter." I say before I plug my phone up. "Ooooh, Hunter. The lover boy." he says before hugging himself and making kissy faces. "Dude, shut up!" I yell at him before laughing and throwing an extra pillow at him. 

"You suck." I say while still smiling, before laying down and getting comfy. "Yeah, whatever." he says, laughing as well. He turns off the light and we both go to sleep. 

*The Next Morning*

I wake up before Dakota. I walk to the bathroom with my stuff and get a shower before getting ready. When I walk back into the room, Dakota's still asleep and it's like 10 o'clock. I run over to his bed and jump on top of him. 

"Oof!" he lets out a noise as I land on him. "Ow! What the heck?" he asks as he looks around, confused. "It's 10 in the morning, time to wake up." I tell him. He groans but gets up and gets dressed anyway. 

We eventually wake the others up and get some lunch. 

After lunch, we go to the store to get food for the rv before heading back on the road. 

"On to the next one." I say as we get back on the interstate. 

A/N: I'm sorry for not updating the past 2 weeks but I've been busy. I didn't have time the first week and I was on a trip in Louisiana the second week. I didn't have time to watch an actual episode this week but I decided to update anyway. There will not be a chapter next week because I have to do state testing. Also, don't count on any new chapters until summer begins because my schedule is all weird so I don't know when or if I'll have time but I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you next time.
