Chapter 8-- The Tamer of Two

Ella's icy bright eyes swept over the guild, and she smiled slyly. I glanced around, myself.

Full moon eyes stared at Ella in awe.

"HELLOOOOO!!!" Ella sung as she walked in, pulling the ice back into her fingertips.

"Sheesh..." OOna said under her breath as a swarm of people swamped up to her and started chatting aimlessly. I held back for my own safety.

"Fight! You! Me! No holdin' back!" Chris shouted as he catapulted into the air on crimson wings.

Jay soared into the air on her lightning platform, "Back off dragon-boy, she just got here!" Jay's hands shot out a jet of fire at Chris knocking him out of the air. I rolled my eyes and smiled slightly. Kaylee caterwauled something from a different room.

I walk over to Ella, with the same butterflies I had when I first met Erza. I shoved down my nostalgia.

"CHRIS GET YOUR DRAGON ASS OVER HERE!" I heard Tori yell from the other side of the guild. I turn my head to see Collin racing ov-

"NEWBIEEEEE!" Strong arms sweep me into the air. My eyes dart around in alarm when I saw a large white braid against my stomach. She set me down with an ear-to-ear grin.

"U-Um hi!" I stutter nervously. Don't you dare think of Erza.

"I'm Ella! Nice to meet cha'!" she grabs my hand and shakes it vigorously.

"Heh, nice to meet you too! So, I heard you use elemental magic. It must have taken you a long time to master it." I told her.

Ella let out a bark of laughter, "I ain't a master yet, at least I can control it! When I first learned the stuff, Trev thought I would cause an apocalypse." Ella laughed and rolled her eyes.

"Who's 'Trev'?" I asked.

"He's the guild master! You know, Mr. Ginger Ale over there!" She pointed at the guy with almond-y hair that made the speech a few days ago, "Did ya know he founded the guild so that mages with two or more types of magic wouldn't be discriminated against."

She gazed around the room until she found OOna. She left me to go see OOna, while I was left to break up the quarrel between Tori and Chris.

"Hey, hey, HEY!" I shout as I race over to spare Colin an injury. "Is there ever a moment when you don't fight?!" I shoved myself between Tori and Chris, before she could shout requip again and hurl herself at him.

I heard Kaylee and Jay mumble in annoyance, Colin gave a small laugh and everyone else was having some sort of mini party.

"My god!" I continued, "Ella just got back! Show some happiness!" They both froze at my words.

"E-Ella's back?..." Tori stuttered, still frozen.

"Y-yea, you i-idiot..." Chris told her, also still frozen, "Y-you should know that a-as well as I d-do..."

"Oh you two~~~!!" Ella's sing-song voice called them. They both stiffened as she walked over.

"I, need you two to help me with a job!" She said to them, a bit more serious than playful. The entire guild fell quiet as she said the words.

"Why do you need both of us?!" Tori shouted that broke the silence.

"Yea! Ella! If you needed help, I could probably do it alone!" Chris yelled, challenging.

"Oh please, Fire-Brains! If Ella is having trouble, then there is no possible way that you of all people could do it alone!" Tori argued.

"Shut it, Water-Ass! I could easily defeat anyone! Even Ella!" Chris yelled.

"You two!" Ella shouted at them, making them freeze, "I may suppose even the best of friends sometimes, but honestly! This is just PATHETIC!" Her voice had turned to steel, it wasn't the bubbly tone she had used earlier, "I fully expect you two to get along, GOT IT?!"

"Yes ma'am!!" Tori and Chris shakily agreed.

"We leave tomorrow morning, 6 a.m., SHARP." She commanded.

As soon as she left, the entire guild let out a huge sigh. Jay took a seat next to me at the bar.

"Y'see? She can be really kind and bubbly one second, scary and ice cold the next..." She told me.

"Yea..." I agreed, taking a look at the still terrified faces of Tori and Chris.

"By the way, Skye," Colin caught my attention, "Why don't you go along with them?"

"M-me?!" I practically shouted.

"Yea!" He said, smiling, "They'll be sure to fight and argue when Ella's back is turned, so why don't you go with them? Just to keep an eye on them, of course!"

I didn't know what to do... but agree...

So then! Today was my little ADMIN Light's first day writing a bit of the chapter! YAY!!

I'm so proud :D

So, she'll help me make chapters when I'm on vacation, etc.

Not much here today!!
