BATCH 2

JUDGE: Hecares1

The Fortunist by omaggue

Title: 10/10

The title matched the storyline. I like that. Great job.

Blurb: 18/20

The blurb is short, straight to the point without giving too many details and ruining the novel. I noticed a little error in the blurb, which caused deductions. Well done!

Cover: 14/20

I don’t like the cover. The font choice isn’t great and I can hardly see the sub information and the title. Use clearer fonts, so readers don’t have to strain their eyes. There’s a saying do not judge a book by it’s cover, but unfortunately people do and a good cover determines the fate of your book. I understand Wattpad blues photos after uploading. To prevent this, use clearer fonts.

Characters: 18/20

Love the characters. I struggled to pronounce some of the names and I like that. I like seeing a whole different names; helps me take a break from the common names I know. Well done!

Grammar and Vocabulary: 17/20

Grammar was great. Vocabulary was excellent, but there were some errors including punctuation. I pinpointed some as inline comments. They weren’t that disturbing, but because I’m judging, I took that into account.

Overall enjoyment: 6/10

You have great story with great characters, but I fairly enjoyed the book. This contest is mystery and thriller, so I was expecting some mystery right from the start. Well done!

Each Of Us Has A Story To Tell By craftychicken

Title: 10/10

The title matches perfectly with the storyline, so I awarded the full mark. Well done! Great title by the way.

Blurb: 20/20

Blurb is short, to the point and very intriguing. It didn’t give too many details, and at the same time didn’t fail to set the mystery tone right. Well done .

Cover: 16/20

I don’t like the cover. Perhaps it’s me, but I feel something more could be down to improve it. Apart from that, everything was visible. I could see the name and title.

Characters: 19/20

Great characters. Well described. We got to know their inner feelings and I could relate. They were imperfect, and that’s great. Well done.

Grammar and vocabulary: 17/20

Grammar and vocabulary was good, but there were some errors. I think a second edit would do.

Overall enjoyment: 10/10

Totally enjoyed this one. Really depicted the mystery and thriller! Well done!

At The Twilight Of Mankind By Butterflies1980

The title matched well with the storyline.

Cover: 17/20

I feel something could be done to improve it.

Blurb: 18/20

Great blurb, but I didn’t get the mystery vibe! I was wondering what science fiction was doing in a mystery category, then I thought to myself maybe it had a mystery and thriller for a subgenre.

Characters: 17/20

Great characters.

Grammar and vocabulary: 20/20

Perfect word choice. Vocabulary is excellent. I spotted one to zero errors. Well done. I do enjoy well-written stories, devoid of too many errors! Brava!

Overall enjoyment: 6/10

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this as a mystery and thriller. It is perfect for science fiction, but as I’m not judging that, I didn’t feel the mystery at all.

Overall enjoyment: 88/100
