There were some things Cameron was good at, handling grief was not one of them. He hated being confronted about his emotions; it caused him to shut down and shut everyone else out.
Which is why two days after his grave's funeral Cameron hopped in his car and drove off without much of a letter explaining where he was going. He just needed some time to himself.
Somehow he found himself on Whittemore Campus the first few weeks where he eventually met up with Jesse; they spent a couple of days together which meant they were partying for the most part.
Cameron walked inside the campus house while he typed away on his phone, he was sending a text to Bonnie for like the first time in three weeks.
He knocked on Jesse's dorm door when his roommate Aaron answered.
"Hey Cameron." He said inviting the boy inside who smiled at him.
"Hey Aaron, where's Jesse?" He asked and he motioned toward the showers.
"He'll be back soon, what crazy things do you guys have planned today?" He asked them and Cameron smiled at him.
"We're driving to Atlanta. There's a fair down there this weekend and I wanted to go." He explained.
"Fair, nice." Aaron nodded. Cameron tilted his head. Aaron was a very socially awkward person and not that very attractive but he was smart.
"Where's that weird Uncle of yours?" Cameron asked, referring to the weird creepy biology teacher who Cameron met one day when he was cleaning some things out of his grandmother's office.
"Where he always is, that creepy lab." Aaron responded before he grabbed his jacket.
"Well I'm going to head out, I have a couple of friends to meet. I'll see you later Cameron."
"Bye Aaron." He said not looking up from his phone. He waited till Aaron was gone before he walked out of the dorm room.
He walked toward his grandmother's old office where he was met by some strange man going through his grandmother's things.
"Uh, what the hell are you doing?" Cameron asked, mighty confused when the man turned to him.
"Um...who are you?" The man asked him and Cameron walked inside.
"I'm Cameron, this was my grandmother's office." He said and the man nodded.
"Uh, I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm Atticus Shane. I worked closely with your grandmother when I was rearranging the office." He told Cameron who nodded.
"Thank you but I just came to find something she might have left me." He told the man before he walked over toward the bookshelf.
He took the first three grimoires that his grams had inside the bookshelf before he took the one he knew she hid underneath the desk.
