A celebration. That's what tonight should've been. A celebration, for all the things that are- no were going on in my life. The promotion, the friends, the love I thought I had.
But no, I'm alone.
I'm alone, I don't know who people are. All I know is there are people after me, my life. 8 of them. I should've left, with whatever sanity I had left. But the darkest parts of the city have always captivated me. Drawn me towards the situations I wouldn't escape without losing something. I can hear their footsteps, see their faces. Any normal person would rather die than be in a situation like this.
But no, not me. I don't care, even when I should. But now, I care too much.
See, the problem of being taken by this particular gang isn't the fact they're a gang. But the fact that they've done more than stole my life. They took my heart as well

I pushed the wooden doors open, entering the Creek Tavern. The Creek Tavern is an old bar located in the heart of Seoul, known for its rustic furniture and great food. As you walk into the bar, you're immediately greeted by the warm, cozy atmosphere, with the low lighting and old-fashioned decor giving it a distinctly vintage feel. The wooden floors creak underfoot, and the walls are lined with old photos and memorabilia that give the bar a sense of history and character.
The seating is a mix of high-backed wooden chairs and plush leather sofas, arranged around low tables that are perfect for groups or couples. The furniture is intentionally mismatched, adding to the overall eclectic and rustic vibe of the place. This made it a very popular place for Sara to meet with co-workers.
"Oi Sara! There you are!" My coworker and best friend, Chae, waved me over. I approached the group that consisted of work friends and their spouses. "Congrats on the promotion today, you deserved it." Chae said, patting my back as the bartender slid me a drink.
"It was nothing really. Just worked hard I guess," I mumbled while sipping on my glass. "Cho Sara, stop being so humble! Your advertisements made so much money!" Chae retorted, rolling her eyes.
"Ugh fine... I guess I did a pretty good job-" I said smirking. "Hell yeah!" Chae said, patting me on the back. "I need 2 more rounds of whiskey, my friends got promoted!"
The night was a blur. Drinking, talking, darts and some awkward karaoke kept the night alive. But as it continued I got even more and more tired.
"Chae I'm gonna step out for some fresh air, don't get too drunk okay?" I said. "You're acting like my mom, I'll be fine~" Chae assured me. "Mommy Sara, Mommy Sara~" Chae mocked as I left the bar.
The brisk Seoul air hits hard after you've been in a warm bar for two hours. The sudden change of temperature shocked me, making me run into a man outside the bar.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry sir!" I apologized, the words slipping out of my mouth. "I didn't mean to-" He pulled the cigar out of his mouth, the smoke filled the air between us, "You're fine, just be more careful." He sneered.
Oh shit.
I didn't realize how intimidating he was until I looked up. 6'2 with broad shoulders that probably held the weight of lots of muscle. Somewhat curly black hair that fell just beneath his ears and dark , but somehow kind, eyes.
Wait what? That's the alcohol speaking! He's just some weird stranger.
"Once again, I'm so very sorry." I said, giving him a slight bow. "I should be more caref-"
A scream. From inside the bar.
"Oh my god! What happened!" I screamed, rushing towards the opening of the building. The sound of water peppering the floor within the bar could be heard. "Just some sprinklers, someone probably smoked in there and set it off" The stranger said assuringly. "Oh, I guess you're right."
Except water doesn't smell like gas.
I turned to look around for help when I saw it. The stranger, throwing his burning cigar into the puddle of gas.
A small flame. No, not small, it was big. It began to grow, building off the old wood that decorated the outside of the bar. In seconds the fire consumed the bar.Shit! "Chae no!!-"
An explosion.
The flames grew as the orange flickered around the bar. The cackle and snaps of the flames meeting the old wood floors. The sound of screams. A banging on the door
"Help!" a man screamed, his face pressed against the melting glass door. I reached my hand out, and off from my face, reaching toward the man. I have to help him, please body. move

All I can hear are the footsteps. Who are they? Nobody could make that out alive, could they!? As I began to regain my consciousness a voice spoke.
"What should we do with her boss? I mean no survivors right?" I heard a noise. a gun cocking.
The last of my energy drained. I opened my eyes, prepared for the worst. What I saw almost killed me.
The burning ruins of a place I once loved. Full with people I once knew. The people I relied on, my best friend. Their bodies, forever encased in the ashes. I was too stunned to speak
The cold metal of a pistol touched my head. "Any last words? A masked man said. I shuffled away with whatever energy I had left. I was only running on adrenaline now.
"Wait no please. I don't wanna die," the words came out as fast as I was breathing. I could feel the weight of reality bearing on me
I'm not gonna make it
"Now why should we do that darling?" Another man cooed. The stranger. His mask was down revealing a rather handsome face. Why must I think about this before I die? Cmon Sara be smart here! I won't die like this.
I won't die here, not tonight.
I was shaking as I tried to get off my knees. "What do you think you're doing?" The stranger growled. "You're not going anywhere" He whispered, his breath sending chills down my back. "Once again, and for the final time, why should we not shoot you?"
I could feel hot tears rushing down my face, "please sir, spare me!"
There was a pause. The heavy breathing, the sound of cackling flames, the rush of footsteps.
"Night night" a cold metal knocked my face.
And with that. All I could see was black.
