Chapter 2

"Uh Johnny" I whisper. He tightens his grip around my waist as he rolls over to face me. He opens his eyes and then smiles but then backs up. "Uh good morning" he said turning red. "Good morning johnnycakes" I said laughing quietly. " I'm sorry I don't really know how I got here" he said motioning to my bed. "It's okay Johnny really" I said laughing. I take his hand and his Jean jacked and walk downstairs.

Nothing new two-bit in front of the TV eating chocolate cake with a beer. Steve sitting on the couch also drinking a beer and Darry in the kitchen looking at some mail. "I thought I told you and pony to do the dishes" he said not even looking up from the mail. "Oh Shit I'm sorry Darry I totally forgot I'll do them now" I said letting go of Johnnys hand and walking over to the sink rolling up my sleeves. "No forget about it, it seems like after our parents died everyone in this family forget to do stuff" he said now standing up over me. I look into his eyes and gulp. "No it's okay Darry you told me to do them so I'll do them and then I'll take out the garage" I said starting the water. He turns the water off and then crosses his arms. "I SAID IT WAS FINE I TOOK OUT THE GARBAGE AND I ALREADY DID YESTERDAYS DISHES GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL SOMEWHERE ELSE" he said grabbing my arm and rolling down my sleeves kind of rough. "And change out of this shirt it's dirty and it's your brothers" he said pointing to the stairs. I'm not sure if it was a good time to tell him all my clothes where at one point my brothers I get all the hand-me-downs I haven't had my own new shirt since I was 4. I'm the youngest and a girl and my brothers grow hella fast so I kind of lucked out in a way.

I storm up stairs and into the room making soda and pony wake up I look at them my cheeks stained with tears. Soda gets up first and pulls me into a hugs while rubbing my back telling me it's going to be okay. Ponyboy then joins into the hug resting his head on mine. I pull back and grab a shirt out of my dresser while my brothers start to get dressed as well. I start to take my shirt off when Johnny walks in. "OH... IM... SHIT...SORRY" he yells while closing the door. Me, soda and pony laugh at this and I finish putting on my shirt.

I open the door to see Johnny outside covering his eyes. I take his hand off of his eyes and hold his hands. " I'm sorry bean I should of knocked and I should of said something I'm so sorry I swear I didn't see anything NOT SAYING that they are small but I'm just saying UGH" he said getting frustrated and red. "Johnny it's okay really I didn't mind" I said laughing him doing the same. He looks down at me and starts to pull my chin up to make eye contact. He looks at my lips then to my eyes I nod letting him know it's okay for him to kiss me. He start to lean in when we hear my brother making his way to the door. "PONY WAIT DON'T OPEN THE DOOR I UH I AM CLEANING AND I DON'T WANT THE DUST TO GO EVERYWHERE" I say totally making it up while Johnny just smiles while leaning in. I finish by putting my hand on the back of his neck and pulling him in. Our lips finally connect. They are soft and perfect for mine our lips move in sync. Our moment is ruined when my idiot brother starts to open the door. Pushing me and Johnny down the stairs. I land on top of him while pony,soda and two-bit look at us wondering wtf just happened.

"TWO-BIT $20" pony and Soda say to two-bit doing the little give me hand motion. I look at my brothers in disbelief while I start to stand up and helping Johnny up. Two-Bit gives them the money without taking his eyes off of the TV. Dally enters the house and comes over to me kisses my cheek and ruffles my hair then sits on the couch. "Do you guys want to go see a new movie" he asks pony,Johnny, and I we all respond with yeah and sure. We get on our shoes and start to walk outside. We get to some kids playing cards when dally goes over and picks the cards up. "Have you guys ever played 52 card pickup" he asks the kids which they just nod No. he then makes a huge mess with the card and yells at the kids to scram next thing you know we are chasing after kids.

It's now dark enough for the movie so we go and sneak in. We sit down behind all the cars but they are still good seats. "Are you sure about this" some girl in front of pony says. "Yes I am" another girl says with red hair. I know them as sherry but she gets called cherry because of her hair and Marcia and that they are Ew socs. "Hey pretty lady what are you doing over here" Dally says to sherry. "Well I don't want to be up there I wanna be here if you have a problem leave" she says in response me, pony and Johnny scared for his response. "Hey I'm going to go get some soda and pop corn alright" he says to all of us. After about 30 seconds sherry turns to look at us. "Well are you going to say something" she asks us me and pony look at her and both say no at the same time. "Oh why are you hanging out with that trash" she asked making me a little mad that's she just called him that. "Dally is our pal" ponyboy said "he's like family he's not like that all the time once you get to know him" I said right as he got there handing all of us a soda. "Here I got you this thinking you would cool off" he said to sherry. "Here how about cool you off" she said throwing it in his face making him mad and try to kiss her"dally cut it out man" Johnny finally stands up to dally. "What did you just say you little shit" dally asks surprised. "I said cut it out" Johnny says one more time making dally leave out of anger and embarrassment I see Johnny still standing so I grab his arm pulling him down a little for him to sit back down. "Wow that was great you must be tough and scary" Marcia says to Johnny while twirling her hair. "I'm not scary" he says laughing a little bit. "Why don't you sit down here and protect us. "Johnny and pony boy gets up and sit down in front of me. "Hey uh where do I sit" I asked seeing the rest of the seats are filled. " uh you can stay there" Marcia said laughing. "Oh ok" I said leaning back in my chair.

Two-bit comes out of nowhere scared the shit out of all of us. "Where's dally" he asked looking around "he left" I said two-bit taking the now empty seat next to me shaking his head. "Hey have you seen Dallas Winston I know it was him who slashed my tires" a socs says coming up to us "uh no" I said everyone agreeing. "Does Dally have a switch" two-bit asked me. "I don't think so no" I said getting up. "Hey where are you going" he asked. "I'm going home they are to busy being their knight and shining armor they forgot I was here" I said motioning to the two in front of me two- bit just shaking his head in approval for me to go home and slap the two behind their hands earning him a ow from both of the boys.

I start walking home until a blue mustang starts to follow me. I start to speed up so does the car every twist and turn I do it does. I stop at a dead end and turn around out of fear at the headlights. "Why is your brother with my girlfriend" a soc asked me. "Huh what I don't know what you're talking about" I said being honest on how I don't know who or what he's talking about. "Don't make me say it again why is your brother ponyboy with my girlfriend sherry" me knowing it's bob says. "O-Oh I don't know I swear" I said. "I also saw what your bud dally was doing he was trying to hit on my girl" bob says now in my face. He had about 2 other people with him but they where still at the car. "I'm really sorry about that but that wasn't me so if you have a problem talk to him not me" I said trying to move away but he stops me. "I wouldn't of said that" he has now angry "and why not are you going to jump me" I said. He starts to hit my face and his two other friends come over and start to kick me while also punching me. After about 5 minutes of that I was to tired to move I was to tired to do anything. The socs got into their car and drove away. I stayed in the alley for awhile but I eventually got up and started my very long walk home.
