40 years old

Aquafina and Evan were immediately wed the second they set foot on his land. She assured the queen she was happy with the simple position of second queen. She wanted no power struggle, she only wished to love Evan and care for her temples.

However, the people grew to favor Aquafina greatly. As she poured out blessings and called them rain from the heavens her name spread like wild fires. She was their countries beloved goddess and queen. Who wouldn't be proud?

Her son's feats were no smaller. Because he was a Demi-god his powers were much weaker, but he could still control tides and cast away hurricanes. Evan loved his youngest child with all his heart. And he wanted the boy to experience the full life of a prince that he could provide. He introduced the boy to his other sons and daughters. At first they were hesitant but once Rain began to share his stories of the worlds he had crossed they grew intrigued.

Especially the second youngest. The little boy yearned for a life of adventure. He wanted to cross the oceans and cross the skies. He wanted to see all there was to see. Those two boys became best friends and would adventure around the capital every single day. They shared their stories and their dreams. They shared their secrets and their lives to each other.

The queen had grown restless at the drastic change the palace had made in such a short course of time. The kingdom seemed to have turned on her and so did her own family. She slowly grew mad.

On a stormy night like any other, Aquafina sat in her bedroom painting snowflakes on the small white canvas in front of her. Every brush stroke and shade of white created a unique and beautiful snowflake that would grace the world with its beauty in the coming winter.

She sat back and dusted off her hands on her apron. The fireplace crackled in the distance, it's light mixed with the moon beams that slipped through the side window. She smiled at the masterpiece and moved the easel near the fire to dry. A knock came on her door. She recognized the silly pattern and smiled brightly? "Evan?" She called. Another knock.

The thunder boomed and rain pattered against the window ferociously. She sighed at the window. "Okay pa, I here you. I'll go to bed soon just give me a second," she opened the door and peered through the dark hall. No one was there. She spotted puddles of water on the carpet floor. She touched the water and asked the drops to tell her why Evan had left her door.

The puddle didn't know. She sat on this for a moment, "then who was at my door?" 'The queen.' Aquafina raised an eyebrow curiously. "What could she have been doing at my door so late at night?" So Aquafina followed the puddles of water. The carpet indents were hurried and sloppy, like they were made by someone drunk on wine. The harshness of the rain on the window worried her greatly. As if her father was warning her from the heavens. She almost decided to turn back around until she head a loud shriek in the direction of Rain's bedroom.

Aquafina ran as fast as her thin legs could take her. "Rain!" Once she reached her son's door she noticed that it was slightly ajar. She shoved her door open and froze at the doorway. Aquafina's heart dropped. Evan's wife was holding a blacked knife over Rain's neck. Her eyes were glazed over by a crazed desire. Her breathing was harsh and staggered. The clean cut woman Aquafina was accustomed to now looked like a mad psychopath. The Queen's black hair cascaded over the bed like a sea of obsidian. Her hazel eyes tinged red in the light of the fireplace.

"You demons have plagued my life for far too long," she seethed. Aquafina tried using her magic to yank the knife out of the queens hand but then realized she would be harming Rain in the process. Rain's blue eyes were wide and filled with terror. He didn't know what the weapon at his throat was be he could tell it was dangerous.
