8. Movie

Alexa's POV

Every time I enter a hotel room I'm still like an excitable child running round to check it out and belly flopping onto the bed to test its comfiness.

The rooms here were bigger than at St George's Park and there was a large waterfall shower that I was excited to test out later.

There was a loud knock at the door and I opened it to Georgia's slightly flushed face.

"Mate this place is MASSIVE, come on we're gonna have a look around before training" she said as she burst through the door, quickly hugging me and then dragging me out of the room with her.

Georgia was right, it was huge. There was a games room, movie room, two heated pool rooms, volleyball court, football pitches and even a lake with boats on?! I don't think I'd ever been somewhere like this in my life, certainly not for a football tournament.

We bumped into Kiera, Lucy and Leah down near the lake who were also exploring the grounds. We all chatted, catching up about our day off. I took a photo of Leah and Georgia messing around in front of the lake, it was quite cute actually with the backdrop.

"Here, let me send myself that" said Leah as she took my phone. Acting completely normally she entered her number into my phone and then sent herself the photo on WhatsApp. Smooth move Williamson, you've got my number now.

Later that day

We had all worked hard at training, still trying to prove to the coaching staff that we deserved to be on the pitch. There was so much depth in the squad though that really any of us deserved to.

As soon as I got back to my room I jumped in the shower, it was hot and powerful and I stayed with the water running over me for probably longer than I should've done.

I was laying on my bed in my towel when a notification popped up.

Georgia added you to a group chat 'ABBA's Angels 💃🏻'

I laughed as this was probably a reference to the constant ABBA soundtrack we had on in the changing rooms, I'm not complaining though. Georgia added all of the girls to the chat and then sent a message

G - 'Movie night! 🍿🎥 everyone downstairs in 5'

God only 5 minutes Georgia?! I was exhausted and I still had wet hair but I just chucked on my comfy clothes and glasses and head downstairs.

As soon as I entered the room Beth called over to me "Hello sexy, glasses suit you. Come sit next to me" she patted the seat next to her on the sofa between her and Leah.

I saw Leah look up and clock me after Beth's comment and I squeezed in between them on the sofa.

"They do by the way" Leah murmured quietly

"What?"

"Suit you.. the glasses" she said quietly with a slight smirk

I smiled at her as the girls all gathered round and pulled up bean bags to watch the film. Beth confidently had her arm over the back of the sofa behind me but Leah and I just had our arms by our sides.

I wasn't really paying attention to the film on the projector screen, I was deep in my thoughts. She was flirting with me wasn't she? There had been a moment in the ice bath and whenever we were alone I felt it. Around everyone else though sometimes it was as if I was Georgia or another of her friends.

Leah shifted slightly and suddenly I was aware of how much the left side of my body was pressed against her. I decided to test the boundaries a bit and I let my leg rest against Leah's, leaning into her slightly. I felt like I was holding my breath but she didn't move away.. in fact I felt her move her leg back against mine reciprocating the movement as we both looked straight ahead. I smiled slightly, maybe I wasn't imagining this.

I felt Leah's fingers slowly reach out for my hand and she interlinked them. Blood rushed through my body, I got butterflies and my breathing quickened. I was literally just holding her hand what is this girl doing to me?!
We sat like this with our hands interlinked, hidden between our legs for the remainder of the film, not that I was paying much attention to it.

As I went to bed I felt like a giddy teenager, my mind was spinning with thoughts of the girl laying in her bed, right next door.

Night for one in the lensbury resort pls, it looked so nice
