Maya looked flabbergasted at the sight of a run-down bar at the heart of London.
' is this guy sane?' She thought. She had at least anticipated a proper store.
"Let's go in shall we?"
" What do you mean 'go in', Mr Dumbledore? I thought we were supposed to buy stuff for my school before leaving?"
" Just be patient darling you will understand in a bit," McGonagall said as she ushered her in.
As the brick wall opened to reveal the Diagon Alley, Maya's eyes were practically bulging out at the sight.
Dumbledore waved his wand at her to put a warming charm after they entered and McGonagall went away to visit Gringgotts.
" Maya, I have already bought your books and other supplies for the year, now we just need to choose your wand and pet. Your uniform has also been prepared."
Dumbledore turned to her while entering the pet store. " Now Maya, you have to make a very very important decision. Do you want a cat or an owl or a toad?"
".....you guys keep toads as pets? " Now she was pretty sure that this guy was not stable.
" well yes, but most of us keep owls for convenience. You know for sending letters?"
" I thought you guys were advanced? you all still use owls to send letters?"
" As must as I would like to have the muggle form of communication, we are not able to use it unfortunately..........you have to make your choice now and then we can do some real shopping in the shop neighbouring shop"
............ The said 'neighbouring shop' was a candy store.

" Now miss we have quite a few school animals right now, so might not get that many choices but each one of these cats are the finest in the nation, we specifically bred this one to look like a tiger, in case you are a Gryffindor, and this one can jump..........." and he went on in the background as she searched in the cages for the perfect one. Eventually, she spotted a black cat with big green eyes, it was looking up at her expectantly, wagging its tail.
