Alexander was right, Aaron was far more appreciative of the flowers than any plant they had seen so far. "They're so colorful," he looked back at the angel Prince with the brightest smile. "Do the flowers have specific names too?"
He couldn't help but smile in return, having to consciously stop himself from fluttering his wings. "They do," he nodded. It was just too nice to be there. Not because of the flowers but because he was happy with Aaron, he'd come to like this boy a lot. Maybe too much, but he'd decided he didn't mind.
"They have names and some people like to think flowers, depending on color and type, have different meanings as well. I'm not too sure what each one represents aside from red roses mean love but that's pretty common knowledge." He shrugged, "that stuff is not something that ever seemed important to know so I didn't bother."
The demon's gaze kept flickering around to all the many flowers there were, but it was obvious which flowers Aaron liked the most. His gaze kept snapping toward his favorites, similar to the way he would often get caught staring at Alex's wings. He liked white roses and daffodils the most. They only had yellow daffodils in the angels' homeland but Alex was sure Aaron would like others as well.
"These are roses," Alex gestured to the plant, "they're typically in red but some other common colors are yellow, pink, and white. Those," he gestured to the yellow flowers, "are daffodils." Alexander then whispered eagerly with the back of his hand pressed to the side of his mouth like it was some big secret, "we only have yellow but I've seen some down there that are white." There were probably a few more but he wouldn't know.
Alex picked a few flowers and offered them to Aaron, just the colors closest to each other. "These are hyacinths," the ones he gave the other boy were random and just so happened to be blue and purple. "They're pretty odd flowers in comparison to the others we have, but I like them."
"They're beautiful," the demon spoke as softly as he smiled, "everything here is so beautiful." Even the angel with him didn't look out of place, although there was a way he could look even better. Aaron glanced around the area at the flowers before bending his knees near some and looking at Alex. "Can I take one?" He asked because Alex had plucked a few and given them to him but he didn't know if he was allowed to do the same.
He smirked and crossed his arms across his chest, "of course. You can take however many you like, no matter the kind. We have plenty," Alexander found it a little funny Aaron thought he had to ask. He did just see Alex pick some not even moments ago, then again these were the royal's property.
Aaron then grabbed a gardenia, specifically a red one. "I think out of them all," he stood back up with the flower in hand and walked over to Alex. "These suit you the most," he whispered the phrase before tucking the flower behind Alex's ear. "There, perfect." The flower complimented the soothing blue—and maybe what looked like some purple—color of his eyes. They were eyes one could easily get lost in.
Alex didn't necessarily agree with that opinion, thinking a purple carnation would suit him more, but that opinion was biased because he just thought the contrast would be better for his typically green attire. Regardless it was a sweet gesture and the way it was delivered he couldn't help but blush. The angel opened his mouth to say something, anything but found himself at a loss. He turned his head to the side and cleared his throat, "yeah-" That wasn't the word he tried to say but that's what came out, "uh, thanks." That didn't feel any more right than his last.
The demon wore a sly smile at how Alex seemed to lose the smug composure he always appeared to hold, all because of a flower. Yes, because the flower was what made him act that way. He knew it wasn't the reason. "You're welcome," Aaron turned around and walked not too far away. He went just far enough that when he looked back he could see just how right he was. The angel looked as perfect as he thought he would, as perfect as he'd pictured any angel looking. Being surrounded by flowers made the image just look right.
