It's been about two months since the events at the hospital.

Thanks to the miracle of modern medicine.

And specialized medical Exorcists.

I was able to heal up in no time.

Two weeks of recovering and the rest of the month and a half for physical therapy. Especially for my left shoulder which took the most damage during that struggle against Zayne.

It was a hot summer's day. The sun shone brightly, cicadas buzzed and chirped loudly.

I was standing outside baking in the sun, staring up at the clouds apathetically.

So, we're becoming Exorcists, huh?

"Hey, Zach!" A voice called out from behind me.

I turned around and was face to face with the brim of a sunhat.

"About time. You're sooooo slow."

The owner of the sunhat took a step back, pouting. "And you. Are sooooo mean."

It was Mari, dressed in blue shorts and one of her signature oversized sweaters that had a sunflower in its center. A sunhat, some sunglasses and a small white handbag.

I raised an eyebrow and pointed at her sweater. "It's summer; and at least ninety degrees out here. Why are you wearing that?"

She wore a snobby expression and held her head high with pride. "I'm cooling myself off."

"With what, exactly?"

"Uh. Duh. My Vestige."

I rolled my eyes. "So, you're going to burn through your Essence keeping yourself cool?"

"Eh! Er—You've got a point," Her face turned red. "I-I'll be right back!"

She hurriedly headed back into the apartment complex, leaving me to my thoughts once more.

What will she do without me?

I took a deep sigh and returned to my daze, vacantly gazing at the sky.

I noticed something red and serpent-like gliding through the sky. I blinked and did a double take, but nothing was there.

Hm. Must be my imagination.

I played with my earring a little.

My mind began to wander, playing haunting memories within my mind. Memories of the past, of a time that I needed to put behind me.

I thought about Rach. How much I missed her. Thinking about the time we spent together. But now?

Now she's gone.

I thought of Vio and all of those crazy things she showed me. But out of all of those things during my time in Limbo that bothered me the most; was my encounter with Elizabeth.

I couldn't put my finger on it. Everything about her was foreign, yet, somehow there was this ridiculously strong familiarity towards her.

About five minutes had passed and Mari ran out, this time, in a white frilly sleeveless button-up blouse.

"Is—Is this—" she breathed heavily. "Is this better?"

I looked her up and down, giving her a smile. "Yup. You ready to go?"

"W-Wait—" She stared at me, narrowing her eyes and puffing out her cheeks. "Y-You're in jeans! Why are you in jeans?! Didn't you give me trouble for your sweater?!"
