Fenris
Ciri woke up with a gasp, looking up at the ceiling and making Fenris panic a little. "Love?" Fenris asked softly while taking her hand, which seemed to comfort her in some way. Geralt and Triss were in the room as well, watching over her and making sure she didn't die.
"I'm fine." Ciri said lightly while sitting up. She put her hand to her face and started to take deep breaths to calm down while Triss and Geralt sent each other concerned looks.
"Ciri." Fenris said lightly while moving to the bed. "You are brave. But let us help."
Ciri lowered her hand and nodded slowly. "All right." She looked at Fenris for a second before looking back to the bed. "When the Black Knight was after us... I was scared. Then I found out what Fenris was planning and then... I screamed. And that's when the monolith cracked and fell." She looked up to Geralt. "I toppled it."
"How could that be?" Triss asked.
"I don't know." Geralt said. "I need to see it for myself."
"I really didn't mean to do it, Geralt." Ciri said shakily. There were tears welling up in her eyes and Fenris wrapped his arm around her. "And if these monsters are my fault-"
"It's all right." Geralt interrupted and put a hand on her shoulder. "I'll fix it." Geralt walked out of the room with Triss while Ciri rested her head against Fenris.
"It wasn't your fault." Fenris told Ciri softly. She said nothing and Fenris sighed. "You said something before you fainted. Geralt and Triss didn't hear it, but I did. Do you remember?" Ciri shook her head but he knew she was lying. "Alright. I'm going to find Geralt and Triss and make sure they're not making me a big brother." That made her laugh a little which made Fenris smile. He kissed her on the cheek before walking out of the room and towards the armory.
Thats where he found his father, already dressed in his armor and sharpening his weapons. "We're leaving now?" Fenris asked, making his father pause what he was doing. "Let me go say goodbye to Ciri and get my-"
"You're not going." Geralt stopped him and stood up. "I need you here."
"No, you need me with you." Fenris stated. "I've been to Cintra-"
"So have I."
"I know what you are looking for." Fenris told him. "I know exactly where the monolith is."
"Cintra has been taken by Nilfgaard, I seem to remember seeing it burning to the ground the last time I was there, but no one saw me there." Geralt explained. "Chances are, they will be looking for you, at the very least know to bring a boy with white hair and silver eyes back to the castle. You coming with me will bring more danger than help." Fenris wanted to argue but Geralt walked over and put a hand on his shoulder. "You look like a child." Fenris glared at him and Geralt sighed. "I didn't mean it like that. I mean you look scared like a child." Geralt realized that didn't exactly help and he groaned. "I'm not good at this."
"No shit." Fenris turned and sat in a chair, so Geralt moved to take a knee in front of him. "Are you going to come back?"
"I can promise to try." Geralt said with a soft smile. Fenris was still nervous, ever since he showed up at the kind woman's shack in the woods, they haven't been apart. Geralt stood up and patted Fenris's head before walking towards the laboratory.
Vesemir came into the armory a few minutes later and looked at him with a stern look. "Come with me." Fenris didn't say anything and just followed the old man out of the castle and towards the woods. What Vesemir led him to was a small stack of dry sticks with his whip laying right on top of it. "We're working on signs today, remember? Take off your shirt." Fenris didn't move and Vesemir narrowed his eyes at him. "Did I stutter?"
