Fenris

Fenris's eyes snapped open, where he instantly saw a roof above him. It didn't look like Annika's cottage, but more like one in an inn. He could hear people below him and the strong scent of ale, but that paled in comparison to the strong scent of floral perfume that filled the room. Fenris looked around the room and thought he was dreaming.

"Morning, Sunshine." Sabrina said with a sultry smirk. Fenris couldn't find his voice for a moment. The last person he expected to see was Sabrina Gevissig. He hasn't seen her since the morning after the Battle of Sodden, where he found out his men died by his own hand for no reason.

"Am I in a whore house?" Fenris asked groggily.

Sabrina raised her brow, and her smirk became more teasing. "You often wake up in whore houses?"

"No. I just always thought you'd end up in one eventually." Fenris groaned as he rolled to sit up while Sabrina giggled at his jab.

"So, you think of me often?" Sabrina asked.

"Whenever I get a headache." Fenris said dryly. Fenris tried to get up but when he pushed down on the bed, his right elbow started to ache. "Ow!"

"Careful." Sabrina said. Her voice sounded annoyed, but Fenris looked at her and saw a slight hint of worry in her eyes. "You have Bursitis." Fenris raised a questioning eyebrow and Sabrina sighed, an annoyed look was back in her eyes. "There's fluid buildup in your elbow, making it hard for your elbow to extend." Fenris raised his arm and tried to extend his arm all the way but couldn't. "Yennefer said your body heals by itself, so--"

"Yennefer's here?" Fenris felt his heart feel lighter.

"Yeah. She's asleep across the hall." Fenris smiled to himself. If Yennefer was here, then so was Farah, Ciri and Derora. Fenris tried to get up, but Sabrina waved her hand around, forcing Fenris back on his ass. "She's been awake for three days straight." Sabrina tells him.

"What?"

"You popped in out of nowhere, crashing right into Yen, and fell asleep on the floor." Sabrina explained. "Yen told us your body doesn't react well to portals, so we've been stuck here waiting for your recovery. Yennefer's been taking care of you since. Tissaia only managed to convince her to get some sleep an hour ago." The blond sorceress scoffed a chuckle. "She's gonna be pissed you woke up."

Fenris nodded slowly as he processed Sabrina's words. "Ciri never checked in on me?" He didn't want to believe that, and by the way Sabrina's face turned sour, he didn't have to.

"Cirilla left with that elf girl a few hours before you popped up." Fenris sighed and put his face in his hands. "Farah is still here, though." Sabrina said. "Apparently Cirilla needed a break from... well, everything."

Fenris nodded slowly. "But they're all safe?"

"Should be." Sabrina smirked. "Farah's safer than others."

Fenris didn't want to know what that meant. "Tissaia's here?"

"Yeah, as well as Rita." Sabrina told him. "Yen sent a message to her, asking for safe harbor as well as teaching her young ward. Tissaia's none too pleased with Cirilla running off and now you popping in out of nowhere. We had to reschedule a very important meeting because of you."

"You can thank me later." Fenris said as he got up again. Fenris stretched his back, reveling in the uncomfortableness of Sabrina when his back let out a multitude of popping sounds that filled the room. "Where did you say my mother was?" Fenris asked.

"I didn't." Sabrina said with a confused look.

"Yennefer." Fenris clarified, which only made Sabrina more confused.
