Motherfucker.
I grunt as another punch lands on my jaw making me take a step back. I raise an impressed brow and tilt my head at the asshole who thinks he can defeat me. He was good. I can give him that. But he is not good enough to come here on the weekend and challenge me out of everyone.
Matt Thompson was one of the 'jocks' at Da Vinci High and the son of James Thompson who was one of the richest men in California. Matt and his friends always looked down upon us who got into the university with scholarships because not only we were more talented than them we also aced every tournament leaving spoiled brats like him to take the leftovers. I sure as hell might have rubbed that on his face considering that he was fuming when he challenged me to fight.
The perfect example of 'don't take decisions when you're angry.'
The crowd cheers as the asshole lands another hit "Is that all you got huh? And here I thought a slum dog like you-" he doesn't get to finish that sentence.
I land an uppercut right under his chin and another punch right on the left side of his ribs which sends him flying back to the ground. I roll my eyes at the new referee and start undoing my gloves as I walk out of the cage.
"W-Wait. It's not over yet-" the referee stutters and I look over my shoulder with a blank expression "He passed out. And take him to the hospital before he dies." I roll my eyes in catch the bottle of water Liam throws at me as I step out.
"Cocky aasshole." he shakes his head with a laugh as he follows me towards the back rooms.
"I aimed right below his heart which means that his rib broke inches away from it and I'm not looking forward to being arrested if he decides to lock me in with his father's connections,"
"He won't but he will again come back for more." He shakes his head and gestures for me to get into the shower. "I don't understand these spoiled fuckers." he groans looking outside as a blonde fake cries while another guy argues with our referee telling him how unfair the fight was.
The fight was fair enough but even if it was unfair nobody would have given a fuck. Under the streets of California, this huge underground fighting was perfect for people like me to get their frustration out and earn money at the same time. In just three years I've become the new unbeatable champion of the ring and everyone now calls me 'the hitman' which goes back to my first fight when I took all my emotions out on the previous underground champion, I was in a daze and kept throwing in punches even after he fell limp on the ground.
It was ruthless and horrifying, to say the least. I've heard that even the referee threw up along with some of the female and male population in the crowd.
"Getting everything you want makes you that." I scoff and shake my head. "Be ready with the money, I'll be back in a ten," I say and shut the door behind me.
As the hot water cascades down my body I close my eyes and rub my face. It was an exhausting day with Mom pacing around and worrying about me as usual and Leo getting admitted to the vet. Dad was working at the three mansions and I'm lucky if I get to see him at least once a day. I miss my family.
After ten minutes I pick my bag up and search for the pills and quickly swallow them and drink some water. I join Liam outside on his Harley Davidson along with mine parked next to his.
He nods at me as I get on my bike and throws me the stack of cash. "Fifteen hundred dollars," he says with a smirk. I nod at that. When you have a match with the rich kids the bets are high and the profits are all mine. Their loss to think that someone could possibly beat me.
"Race me till my house?" I ask and he nods at me. In three seconds we take off and the wind whips at my face as we sped up.
Adrenaline rushes through me as we take a curve which almost had Liam face-planting the ground but he straightens up and throws a middle figure in the air which makes my lips tilt up and suddenly he takes advantage of my short speed lapse and goes past me in a flash.
"Asshole," I mutter under my breath as we approach the road which was filled with vehicles. Liam speeds up until I geared up to catch up with him. He hesitates when he sees two buses with narrow space between them but I zip my way through it and throw a middle finger up as we reach another turning.
I stop where I usually park at the gate of Young's garage and wait till Liam joins me.
"That was reckless asshole," he scolds as he comes to a stop beside me. It was but so was underground boxing and racing through California's streets.
Once we park our bikes, we go to my house where Mom was undoubtedly waiting for me even when I tell her not to. As expected I find her on the couch passed out with a book in her hand. She wakes up at the sound of the door opening and looks at me. "I told you not to stay up ma." I sigh as Liam enters behind me.
"I wasn't staying up for you." she scoffs and points at the book in her hands. "I was reading or I would've missed the opportunity to see my charming man back after two weeks," she says waving at Liam who drops beside my mother and gives her a megawatt grin.
"Hello to you too Phoebe. You look exquisite as usual," he says and my mom grins at him. My eyes soften at her smile and I sigh when I look at the time.
I roll my eyes at her and take the book and turn it upside down. "Yeah? That's how you read it. Now come on ma, it's long past your bedtime." I sigh and bend down to pick her up in my arms. I start carrying her towards her room and she shrieks hitting me with the book.
"Aiden put me down. You can't carry me." Mom grumbles making me smile slightly down at her.
"I'll wait for you in your room idiot." Liam chuckles from behind as he gets up and starts climbing the stairs to my room. "Good night Phoebe," he shouts and my mom mutters a good night back as he disappears upstairs.
"You weigh less than what I bench press ma," I say and she rolls her eyes as I set her down on her bed.
Phoebe Collias was a foot shorter than me but her beauty never went unnoticed even at the age of forty-five. Brown eyes, raven black her and a smile that makes my days better. She was everything one could want in a mother.
"I'm worried about you son." my heart clenches at that but I try smiling at her which probably comes out as a wince.
"I'm alright ma. Sleep." I say as I turn off the lights and shut the door behind me.
Once I reach my room I find Liam sprawled on the couch already passed out from tiredness. But as usual, I go to my window and open it which directly overlooks the Allens mansion. My gaze was trained on a particular room and I almost trip on my feet when I see a slender figure behind the curtains with her hands up in her hair and then the shadow disappears.
My heart contracts and my stomach dips as I blink my eyes wondering if I was seeing things. My brain was a fussy mess and the only thought left my mouth in the form of a curse.
"Holy motherfucking hell."
Thoughts on Aiden?
