My hands started to shake as I saw Edaline run up to me. That can't be what I think it is, can it?
I opened the door again to examine it and see if it was actually what I thought it was. Grady's dead body. Edaline followed behind me then she fell to her knees. Why would the NNS put Grady's dead body in our house? Then I realized something, he was still breathing, but how? He died, didn't he?
"Edaline, listen to me, we need to light leap him to Elwin to see if he is still alive or not, he's breathing but barely."
She nodded her whole body shaking.
I held up my light leaping crystal and leapt back to the healing center, I thought I wouldn't have to go back for a while but I guess I was wrong.
"Oh my."
Elwin said as we walked in, we laid him on the hospital bed.
Elwin examined him and flashed a bunch of different colored orbs around his head, then he shoved a bunch of elixirs into his mouth.
"He's still alive, but in a unconscious state, he is in what humans like to call is a coma, his mind is not broken, but, from using his Mesmer powers to defeat the Neverseen his brain is not working. But his heart is."

"I still don't understand, how is he still alive when I saw his dead body the day we defeated the Neverseen? And if he is unconscious, then how did he get to my room?"
I asked.
"That is a bunch of questions I don't have the answer too, I doubt we will know the answers until Grady wakes up, which could be in a week, or in a year."
Edaline did a quiet gasp when he said it could be a year until he wakes up, if he ever does. Grady looked very rough, he had cuts and bruises all over his body, and he had a black eye, apparently he also had a broken wrist.
Edaline moved a chair next to him and clutched his hand, she had missed him so very much and now that there is a possibility of him coming back, she seemed like her spirits were lifted.
"Hey, um, Foster? If you don't want to do the picnic tonight then that's fine, I completely understand."
"I'm sure Edaline will stay here to keep Grady company, so we can still go if that's fine with you?"
I asked gesturing to Edaline.
"You kids go have fun, I think I'm going to stay the night here."
She said smiling, I nodded in return.
"Bye mom."
I said as we light leaped back to Havenfield.

I went back upstairs to my room to make sure I looked presentable, but after I got done putting on a bit of lip gloss, I saw a slip of paper right where Grady was laying unconscious earlier. I grabbed it and saw it was addressed to me. The note said:
Dear Miss Sophie Foster, your probably confused on how your father is alive, and why we left him there for you to find, well, to answer your question. It is a peace offering, we will have our meeting tomorrow at noon, the meeting place, 'Where Vespara lost her life.' If you aren't there we will be forced to kill both your bodyguard and your mother, thank you for your cooperation. ⭕️ the NNS.
A bunch of thoughts were going through my mind, I knew where Vespara had died, it was when we had found Elysian (the first ever elf to exist) she got on our hood side and helped fight against the Neverseen, in the end, she sacrificed herself for me by jumping in front of a knife that was about to stab me right in the heart, I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for her.

I ran downstairs and showed the note to him, he put on his thinking face and I always loved when he did that cause it was SO CUTE.
"We better show this to the Forklenator."
Keefe said sternly.
"We can show it to him after our picnic, let's not let anything else get in the way of it, okay?"
Keefe nodded. We made the short hike to where we had our first kiss, it was still as beautiful as that day, maybe even prettier because you could see the sunset behind the colorful trees.
"Wow, this place is still as beautiful as ever."
I said in awe.
"Sure is Foster, sure is."
Keefe replied. We set down our picnic blanket and talked while we each ate a bunch of mallowmelt.

"We need to come here more Foster, it's the most beautiful place ever, but not as beautiful as my hair of course."
I giggled and hit him in the shoulder.
"Keefe, your so post to say it not as beautiful as me."
"Okay, okay, okay, fine Foster, it's not as beautiful as you."
He said leaning in.
Our heads were about to touch each others, then I felt his lips on mine, it was probably the longest kiss I had, had yet, It felt like sparks were flying everywhere, and best of all, it was just me and Keefe.
