The Empaths

I didn't reply. I had really been hoping that Grady would be alive again and it would be like old times, but I guess now that was impossible.
"Honey, listen, it's going to be okay. We will get Keefe back and it will be okay with Grady still in the healing center, atleast we can still have a bit of hope."
Edaline said flashing on of her fake smiles, I could tell she was holding back tears because of how she was biting her bottom lip, she always did that when she was about to cry.
"Yeah...."
My voice trailed off as I began to zone out.
Why do the NNS have to do this?! Why can't we just have peace! Why does everything have to have two sides!
I began to get MAD it just became clear that Keefe REALLY loved me, and now she took him from me! How will she use his powers to her advantage?

"Does anyone know how she is still alive? I mean, ogre technology is great but how can it bring someone back to life?"
"I'm still trying to figure that out. It's near impossible to survive someone stabbing a knife into your chest and it going through your heart."
Elwin replied.
"Wait, what happened after I zoned out?"
I asked.
"Well, after Gisela left all the NNS members dispersed and they decided to take Sandor with them."
I felt a pant of guilt, if I wouldn't have blacked out I could've saved Sandor.
"After that Fitz and Dex ran to you and tried making you wake up, Fitz nearly fainted when he saw your head wrapped in shadow flux. Probably because of the trauma that happened a couple years ago."
I remembered that time when we were in the healing center for nearly a month thanks to the shadow flux, it hit Fitz hard though.
"Then, Elwin and I got the call to go to Havenfeild ASAP. I thought something terrible had happened to you..."
Edaline's voice trailed off.

"Hey, atleast I'm okay now."
Edaline did one of her REAL smiles and I began to feel better.
"So, when are we going to try and free Keefe? There's no telling how much damage Lady Gisela will do with those powers."
I said sounding a bit worried, what if she did something bad to him?
"Whoa, just hold on, you still have to rest for a few more days then we can discuss that with the rest of the Black Swan."
Elwin said.
"I'm going to head back to the healing center, I'll be back tomorrow morning to check on you. Bye Sophie."
Elwin said as he got out his light leaping crystal and glittered away.
"Sophie, Elwin said to give you some Slumberberry tea before bed. I know you don't like sedatives but, you need to get some good sleep after the draining day."
Edaline said handing me a mug full of it.
I nodded and turned to Tam, who I kind of forgot was still there.

"Are you going to stay here tonight? I can keep you company if you need me too."
Tam shook his head.
"I better get back, it was good seeing you though, even in these circumstances."
I nodded.
"Right back at ya."
After he left I sipped my tea and stayed in the makeshift bed Elwin made in my living room, I had no trouble falling asleep after that, but then I awoke with a start.
"Hey there Foster."
I heard a voice say.
"Aaaaa!"
I screamed.
"Foster, I can't have Edaline hearing I'm here. Listen, I don't have much time before they figure out I'm gone, then they can easily mind control me to get me back."
"How do I know your not mind controles right now?"
He leaned in and kissed me on the lips, then he flashes his smirk. I could barely see it in the dark but I could make it out.

"Foster, they have this terrible plan involving me, it involves my dad, and Stina, and basically all the most powerful empaths in the elvin world. You HAVE to keep them safe or else they will all be in danger. Trust me Soph, this is BAD, empaths are more powerful than they seem and my mommy dearest has a plan to use them to her advantage. You can listen to me or not, but just trust me please."
Then he got out his leaping crystal which looked like one I had never seen before and he leaped away. I stayed still and in complete shock as Edaline ran downstairs.
"What was that about?"
