We arrived at the healing center to see Elwin looking better already from his fight with Lady Gisela.
"What happened?"
Elwin asked.
"We were only able to get Edaline out and I don't know how much longer until she dosent make it. She got pelted with ALOT of shadow flux."
I felt a couple tears fall down my cheeks. She's going to be okay. I thought to myself trying to calm down. Elwin's pet Banshee laid down right next to Edaline and started making loud noises (which really isn't good). Elwin poured elixirs down her throat and started flashing colored orbs around her head.
"Contact Tam NOW Sophie."
I got out my imparter and called him, he picked up right away.
"Did the plan work?"
He asked.
"Kind of, we got Edaline but you need to get to the Healing Center ASAP or else she might not make it."

He nodded then hung up. He showed up in about 30 seconds.
"Tam, she has shadow flux all in her mind and heart. It might even be more than Fitz had a couple years ago. You need to get it out of her system NOW."
Elwin said. Tam went up to her and set his hands on her head he looked like he was really concentrating and then we saw black shadows come from her head and disappear, then he did the same thing to her heart.
"It should all be gone now. Of coarse there will still be effects from it."
Tam explained. Elwin went back to check her vitals and they seemed a bit better.
"Because the shadow flux reached her head and heart she might be asleep for a couple of days, maybe even a week."
I nodded.
"Wait, I just realized. Why did they take Edaline and not Grady? Was it for no reason?"
I asked. Elwin shrugged.
"I still can't figure out their plan. All of the things they have going on just dosent fit together. First the mind controlled Goblins. Then the empaths. Then taking Edaline. I don't know how it all fits together."

I contemplated for a little bit.
"Was Ro not with my mom whenever she got taken?"
I asked.
"No, she left because Forkle wanted her to be Stina's bodyguard."
"Speaking of Forkle, we better contact him to tell him what happened."
I got out my imparter than hailed him to come to the healing center. Once he got there he spotted Edaline in the hospital bed.
"What happened to Mrs Ruewen?"
He asked.
I told him the whole story. He had this look on his face that made me think he knows something I don't.
"Why didn't you contact me. I could've come to make sure you kids stayed safe."
"We didn't need you. You would've put it off anyways, our plan was greatly executed. And thanks to me my mom is still alive."
He stared at me in disbelief.
"Now, I have a question for you. Do you know something I don't?"
I asked.

"You know me too well miss Foster."
I smiled.
"Well, we figured out their plan. How all of this fits together."
I started to get exited. FINALLY.
"Well, we think their plan is to start another war. We figured out that they made their mind control serum able to be used on elves so that's how the goblins and the powerful empaths go together. As for your mother. She knows some information that they were trying to get out of her. She was going to come to my office tonight after her visit with Grady to tell me, but she never showed. I thought she just forgot but I now know it was because she was captured. As for Keefe. We figured out why he is so important in all of this. Apparently the last step to his legacy is to..."
His voice trailed off.
"Is to what?"
"Well now that he is under his mothers control. The last step in his legacy is to kill you."

I felt my jaw drop.
"Don't worry miss Foster we will keep you safe no matter what."
I nodded as I zoned out.
Poor Keefe. I thought to myself.
"Miss Foster. I have to get back to my lab to oversee a few things but I want you to stay here with Elwin and your unconscious parents to make sure you stay safe."
I nodded.
I set up a little cot in the corner of the room and dozed off. This really was a draining day.
I awoke with a start.
"Sophie! Sophie! Sophie!"
I heard, it sounded like Edaline but she shouldn't be awake yet, should she?

"Sophie! Sophie! Sophie!"
She yelled again. I got up and I saw Elwin run to her. He flicked on the light and I saw her thrashing around. Her skin looked super pale.
"Sophie, it's okay. I think it's just a nightmare."
Elwin said flashing a blue orb around her head. Elwin's pet banshee was not freaking out so I thought she was fine until she sat up abruptly.
"Sophie! Sophie! Sophie!"
She kept yelling over and over. She opened her eyes and they were black and glossed over.
"Sophie! Don't die Sophie! Don't die!"
Elwin looked at me with a concerned look in his eyes.
"According to her vitals it isn't a nightmare. It's a glimpse into the future."
