Izzy's POV
I can't believe Calum asked for my number in French. He's such a loser, but in a good way. He's actually pretty cool. Luke is nice and so is Madi, they're so in love.
I somehow manage to get to class on time even though I stayed back to talk to Calum. I walk into class, not even bothering to see whom I'm sitting next to. I turn my head to see a boy, with pitch-black hair, piercing grey eyes, a pale face especially for an Aussie. But the thing that catches my attention is the piercing on his right eyebrow. I must have been staring because he turns his head to look at me.
"What?" He says, in a deep voice.
"Nothing," I say, trying to play it cool. Damn, I'm awkward.
"Michael," he says.
"Izzy," I say, with a small smile.
"Wait... I remember you," he says and goes back to his work. Is he not going to elaborate on that?
"Homeroom, yeh," I say, after an awkward pause.
"Michael, both of you stop talking," Mrs Noel, our clearly grumpy Science teacher says.
"Her name is Izzy," Michael says sassily.
The teacher glares at him briefly before going back to talking about physics or something.
Michael's POV
I sit down in science and start writing down what the teacher thinks are notes. They are actually song lyrics. After a few minutes someone sits next to me. That's a first. I look up to see a girl, a pretty girl. She is staring at me so I rudely acknowledge it.
"What?" I say, trying to sound punk rock. YEH!
"Nothing," she replies, way too casually.
"Michael," I say.
"Izzy," she replies, with a smile. She has a pretty smile.
I thought she was new but then I remember her from year 9.
"Wait... I remember you," I say, before going back to my song lyrics. I can see out of the corner my eye that she looks confused as if she expected the conversation to continue. Damn straight, she wants more of this.
"Homeroom, yeh," she says, breaking the slightly awkward silence.
"Michael, both of you stop talking," Mrs Noel, says bitchily.
"Her name is Izzy," I say, just to piss her off.
She glares at me for a few seconds before going back to talking about some shit to do with science.
I smile and so does Izzy.
20 minutes later
I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pull it out, careful to hide it from Mrs Noel. She is such a bitch.

"Hell yeh," I say to myself.
Izzy looks at me confused.
"Oh, there's a party tonight," I say, casually.
"Oh," she says, sadly.
"Do you wanna come with me?" I ask.
"Really?" She says, smiling.
"Of-course."
"I'll text you the address," I say to her. Yes, I'm going to get her number.
She hands me her phone and I create a contact for myself.
Bell rings for the end of class
"I'll see you later Mikey," she says, walking off. Damn, she is so hot.
1 hour laterafter school
Izzy's POV
"Ugh," I say, realizing I have missed my bus. I decide I might as well walk home. I only get about half a kilometer down the road when suddenly a car pulls up beside me. My mind immediately thinks it's some creep, especially because he is driving a yellow Hummer. Fortunately, when I look up I see the squishy face of Calum.
"Hi," I say. I must look lame walking alone.
"Missed your bus?" he says, laughing.
I nod embarrassed.
He opens the door and pats the passenger seat.
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" I ask, not wanting to be a burden.
"Nah, just home," he says.
"Okay," I say, sliding into the seat.
The radio is playing All Time Low.
"You like All Time Low?" I exclaim, excitedly. Chill, inner fan girl, chill.
"Hell yeh," he says, as the next song plays.
Break your little heart, one of my favorites.
"This is my all time fav," he says, winking.
I laugh at his bad pun.
We sing along and get about 2 kilometers down the road when I realise I haven't told him where I live.
"Do you wanna know where I live?" I ask stupidly.
"Oh yeh," he says, laughing. When he laughs his nose and eyes crinkle.
"12 Edwards Street," I say.
What a stupid name for a street, I think to myself.
"You're kidding, right?" He asks me.
"Actually no, I know it sounds stupid," I say.
"I live next door," he says, smiling.
"11 or 13?"
"13," he replies, casually.
"That's my favourite number," I yell. This causes Calum to jump almost crashing the car.
"Shit, sorry," I say, embarrassed.
He laughs and turns the music up. After a few seconds of music I turn it down to ask him.
"Why are you driving a yellow hummer?"
"It's my dad's. I just get the keys for when I need to go somewhere."
We pull into his driveway and I thank him for driving me home.
"Thanks for driving me home," I say, grabbing my bag.
"No worries," he says.
