I heard a knock on the door and shouted a come in not seeing who it was. I was reading an important file and cradling Ansh in my arms. I lifted my head when I heard a throat clearing. The person standing there was Devesh sir "Do you know what's the time is miss.Eesha??". I scrunched my nose and said "about 7" in hesitation and checked my phone to see it was 10😱 gosh why I didn't notice. I immediately looked up with widened eyes and said "sorry sir i was just so into the file and did not notice the time"
"It's ok but all the cabs would have left, so come i will drop u. It's already late and i don't want you to go alone. I insist" Said Devesh sir. I was hesitating but he was stern in his decesion so I gave up and accepted, he took Reyansh from my arms and told me to pack. It took me two minutes to pack and we walked towards the lift together. Hearing the ding of the lift Reyansh woke up and started to look around his surroundings as soon as he saw his father his face lit up. He gave his father a sloppy wet kiss. When his eyes landed on me he started to jump towards me and i took him from sir and gave him raspberries which made him laugh. When I looked Devesh sir he was looking at us with some emotions in his eyes which is hard to decipher. Soon the lift came to ground floor and sir told me to wait near the entrance with Reyansh and he will go and bring his car. So I waited. Soon sir came and i went to sit at the back "in front" came his husky voice and i saw him with confusion then it striked me that he was asking me to sit in front. So i climbed in front seat wearing seat belt and made Reyansh sit on my lap securely. Our bags were in back seat. Sir started to my place after getting address from me.
He stopped in front of a restaurant and i looked at him confused. "Get down let's have dinner. I know you wouldn't have had your dinner yet" I hesitated the hotel was also closing but who can refuse Mr.Devesh so we went. The security told that it was closing time and no new customer is allowed. We went and sat on the car "sir if u don't mind can I take u to a place to have dinner. It's near by only just 5mins from here" I asked him. He remained silent for few seconds and asked me for direction. We reached our destination it was a food truck. I love eating there and they serve till 3am. Sir gave me confused look. "We are going to eat where??". I pointed to the food truck and said "Sir don't worry they give hygiene food only and this will be the only place open at this time in this area" He just gave me a nod and told me to get down.i got down with Reyansh he too came after parking the car.
We both went near the food truck the shopkeeper saw me and greeted me "Vaa ma(come dear), what you want??". I gave him a smile. " Sir you ok with egg dosa??" I asked him who was busy looking the surrounding. "yeah anything would do and order something for Reyansh also" i justed hummed and said the order "Anna give us two egg dosa and a plate of idli" he nodded and started to put dosa. His assistant gave me the plate of idli with chicken gravy which I started to feed Reyansh, sir went and brought his water bottle from car after eating the idli he started becoming active. Soon our dosa also arrived at first sir was hesitant and his reaction were hilarious but once he started to eat he didn't stop, he ordered two more egg dosa and ate. All that time I was playing with Reyansh waiting for him. When he went to wash his hand i went to pay the bill.
"Anna, how much" I asked the shopkeeper. He turned and looked my face and asked " what and all you ate ma??" "4 egg dosa and one plate idli anna" I replied . He calculated and told that the bill was 300rs, i reached out to my purse to give the amount but was cut off by Devesh sir who stretched a 500rs note to shopkeeper. He gave a don't-you-dare look which made me to keep my purse back in my bag. After paying to food, we left. "Thank you,the food was good. And you seem to be regular here. The way you talked with the shopkeeper tells it." He said for which I chuckled and told "yes sir I am regular here. It's walkable distance from my apartment and i come here with my neighbour MR&MRS.SEAN they both are darlings and treat me like their daughter as they are childless." He just hummed and my apartment also came. I got down after kissing Reyansh's forehead and securing him in his kid seat at the back of car with care to not wake him up. I took my bag and saw him and waved to him with a small smile in my face. For which he nodded. I turned and walked towards her apartment...
Translation:
Anna- Elder brother( used to address elder men like oppa but both male and female use the same word)
Idli- It's a rice cake kinda thingy. Very rich in protein and a steamed food. It is also claimed as best breakfast globally.
Dosa- it's just a South Indian pancake. It's made out of Wet rice and urid dal flour.
Ma- an endearment used to address women respectfully and at the same time with affection.
