I have been staying with them for three days already, and as those days gone by, so comfortable that if just I could stay with them here forever.

Their warm presence makes me feel I am not a visitor anymore, but a part of their family and their home, especially Grandma.

Whenever they needed, I offer help. I took part of the chores and help them when Mark isn't home.

We eat meals together. Grandma makes sure everyone is in the dining table before we start a meal, except for lunches when Mark is in the car shop.

There's no single day that had passed without us talking for hours. We always talk whenever we're free. Our conversation always last hours, talking about the changes that happened in our lives.

I get to know her again from the conversations we had each day. Each of us are different now from what we were back then. From a beautiful woman with her husband beside her always, she has now become a widow. Though she still grieves for her husband, she still finds other ways to be joyful and positive, such as being active at church, spending her time in gardening and interacting with new people.

Since they didn't have a chance to have sons, she still is content with what she had receive, two daughters and three grandsons, which she treats as her own sons.

We always find time to have conversations time to time with each other. Either early in the morning when I sometimes watch her cook, free times in the afternoon, or when there's just nothing to do.

Both of us has new stories to tell each day. Her smiles never leaves her lips each time we meet, everytime we have conversations she always gives me advices about life, we always talk about each other's lives, making us know each other again.

She tells me stories about her younger years with her husband every time we are chatting. Her smiles are very evident everytime we talked about their past.

According to her, he was a wheat farmer since he was young. She told me her parents were strict concerning her suitors, which she told me they were

She was forbidden to talk to bachelors during her teenage years. Until her father met a young man who was eager to work for him, not for her hand but as he was really looking for a job. She told me her father had a huge farm and wheat field before, until it was unfortunately abandoned after his demise.

"He was not a rich man, nor he dreamt of being wealthy. He is also a regular farmer, just like the rest of the men back in those days. We both didn't had the chance to go to school and study like you did.

"But he is a hard and skillful worker." she continued. "He was able to have income through his work. And because of his perseverance, he managed to take your mother and your aunt to school, and by God's grace, they both excelled in academics and had their own intelligence and talents, though it's quite uncommon for women to be in school those times.." She told me while we're sitting in the living room one afternoon.

"He seems to be such a great dad based on your story, Ma!" I was amazed by the way grandpa loved his family and handled everything well. "Well, I hope I could be like him one day."

"He really is. Though he isn't the best man, his way of life prove that he is a good man, ever since his younger years. And I'm sure you can be greater than him. He always dreamed of having a son who would eventually be a doctor, a scholar, a professional. I'm sure he would be proud of you if he see you now." she said.

"He also loves you. He always looked after you since you first lived with us. He treats you, and also Mark, as his own sons, though he was strict with you as you grow, he wants nothing but for you to live the best life possible."
