The sun shine across my window, piercing through my closed eyes and waking me up to a new morning. It was a beautiful Sunday.

I got up from my bed and checked on my phone if I missed some messages from my family or work. There were not any, besides from greetings of good morning from my mother and some other massages from my friends. After reading those texts, I put my phone down on my nightstand and went to the bathroom to do my hygiene routine.

I went down to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water after I dried myself after washing my face. As I reached the kitchen, I encountered Grandma, as usual, preparing breakfast with a smile painted on her face, listening to the radio. The radio station she's always listening to plays old songs that only the aged and old songs fanatics appreciate and memorize by heart.

"Good morning, Ma." I greeted her with a gentle smile and a mild tone. I stretch out my arms and help myself a glass of water from the fridge.

Grandma was cooking breakfast on the stove. She turned around and greeted me back cheerfully. "Oh, you're already awake! Good morning to you too, Arnold."

When my eyes had already adjusted to the light, I can finally focus my gaze on her, seeing her wearing a beautiful blue dress and a pair of humble pearl earrings in her ears, hiding under her tended hair. She also has a pair of flats in her feet.

"You look nice, Ma! Going somewhere?" I sat down by the counter with a glass of water.

She turned to me, handing me a cup of freshly brewed coffee with a smile. The aroma of the coffee woke me up. "Yes! I'm going to church today since it's Sunday. You know, we should take time to worship and thank God for the blessings we had received from Him the past week, and listen to His word as well." she joyfully replied. "If you want, you can join me, dear."

I took a sip from my water as I listen to her. "I would gladly to, if you need company." I replied. Even though I am not that of a church person. But as I saw her happily and excitedly preparing, I found interest. Maybe there is where I could find a new sense of purpose in my life, I thought.

She smiled as she heard my answer. "I'm glad you are able to join me."

I smiled after I gulped down the rest of the water from my glass. "No problem. I'm always happy to be with you."

While we were talking, Aunt Sylvia went to the kitchen. She greeted her mother and went to the fridge to grab her water bottle.

"Good morning to you too, Sylvia." her joyful greeting back to her daughter, then she invited her to the table for breakfast. "Come have a seat and have breakfast as well."

Grandma offered her breakfast and the three of us ate together peacefully until our full.

Aunt stood up and cleaned after our meal. Grandma also got up to go to the living room. "Well, we still had some time though. Better get yourself prepared so we could go early. I don't want to walk under the hot sun as I can quickly get dizzy." Grandma said as she sat at the couch, waiting for me.

"Yes, Grandma." I replied as I went to the bathroom upstairs, "I will be quick."

"I'll wait for you." She said as she sat by the living room.

I quickly went upstairs and took a bath. I searched for a nice attire that would fit the day. I had chosen a plain brown polo shirt, and paired it with black tough pants. Grandma, whose waiting for me outside at the gate, called me. I walked out of the house carrying my bible by hand.

Grandma look at me and look through my attire. She complimented me as she slowly scan through my attire. Her eyes lit up as she looked at me. "Wow, you look so handsome on your attire!"
