It was thirty minutes past eleven when the service ended. The church's entrance bacame crowded as the churchgoers go on their way home, but the ushers guided the people out

As soon as our heads pass through the church's roof, the sun shines high above our heads and its rays were piercing through the clouds and trees, spreading a gentle warmth over the whole village shining over the churchgoers as they went to each of their homes after the service. We went home, walking under the shadows of the trees to avoid the heat of the sun. The trees wave under the gentle breeze, making the whole place a refreshing sight for everyone.

"Thanks again for coming to church with me, son." she said as we walk down the road, her warm smile never leaving her face.

With a smile, I turned my head to look at Grandma, "No worries, Grandma. I always love being with you, and the church was good! I really enjoyed it." As I compose my reply, her brown expressive eyes are locked at me, shining with pure joy its beauty had me captivated.

She show a calm smile, "I'm glad to hear that you liked going to church. Just like the old times, when you were a little kid. I still remember when we go to church together with Dominador, both of us are holding you in either hand as we walk together to church."

"Oh yeah, I remember that," my lips curved into a smile as I remember those memories, "I also remember him buying me pretzels and lemonade after church."

She lightly chuckle. "Indeed, he really loves you like you're our own son. He always wanted to do everything to make you smile, as if you were his son. You're special to him, and to me as well."

A comforting warmth spread through my chest as she say those words, as if it was a soul-healing balm that washes the troubles away in my mind, even just for a while. "Thank you. You two also have a special place at my heart."

Our hands are clasped together as we walked by the roadside. Our conversations kept flowing between us as we walked by the trees' shadows to protect us from the sun's heat.

As we walk down the road, my thoughts drift to the church service. The amicable people, the welcoming ambiance, everything was a whole new experience for me, and it was something that change me, as if I found something valuable that is worth keeping and cherishing. I then take a glance at Grandma. Her smile hasn't falter away since we left the church. "I wish I could go back here often, so I could accompany you to church."

Grandma took a breath before turning her head to me and smiled. "Yes, you can! Everyone is welcome to the church. And I will also be glad to bring you there everytime you come here for a visit." her enthusiastic reply, followed by a question, "But why have you say so? Aren't there churches in your place for you to visit?"

I pause on my words to think, trying to remember the last time I saw a church in the city. "I'm sure there are some at my place, I just have no time to visit due to my work schedule and other stuff." I explained with an awkward smile.

"You're such a busy person, dear. I didn't expect your life to be that eventful."

I sighed, "Yeah, if you only know, Ma. It's exhausting to be a city dweller."

Grandma understandingly nodded. "Well, I think it would be natural for someone like your age to be such eventful, especially from the fact that you live in an advanced society. That's because people like you needs a lot of things. You pay for too many bills, you buy equipments for work, and you also help your family. Am I right?"

Grandma then added, "Nonetheless, you are such a responsible man, and I admire you because of that virtue of yours. A man in that age that works that hard like you is almost hard to find.
