There I was, standing in the complete dark; staring into nothingness. Suddenly it was as though a sudden light switch turned on as my whole dream went up in brightness. I looked around and realized I was standing in front of 3 doors.

One door was painted the colour yellow. It shone bright and stood out.

The second door was shaded grey. It seemed fated.

The last door was… was it Blue? Or wait… no pink, green, maybe white? I looked away as the sudden colours seemed overwhelming. It blurred my vision as much as it gave me a headache. OK, OK… I know this was a dream but it seemed so real…

I stood there, looking at the three doors as I didn’t know what exactly to do. Was I to open one? Well obviously… I thought to myself.

But if I was to open one then which one would I chose?

I walked to the one on the left as the yellow contrast against the current surroundings stood out from the rest. My hand gripped the door knob as I yanked it back. But suddenly I was pulled forward as I fell… and fell… and fell into complete darkness. My eyes had to adjust as blurs were coming and going from my vision.

My stomach felt as though it was dropping as that awful gut feeling was consistent. Finally, my eyes began to adjust as I kept falling. I saw flashes of an awfully frightful face, surround me. Corbin.

His laugh was cruel as it dwelled beneath my skin. It felt as though bugs were crawling from the tips of my fingers.

I then shot up from bed, panting like hell. So now, not only could he ruin my life, cornering me, making me paranoid but now… he could apparently ruin my dreams; turn them into a nightmare with a click of his fingers.

I looked over at my alarm clock as it read 5:30. Great, I still had about 2 hours until school.

I lay there, staring up at the ceiling until I slowly drifted off to a dreamless sleep. Until I was so rudely awoken by a piercing sound which I recognised as my alarm clock.

As I stiffly walked towards Music, I kept my guard up as the nightmare from the previous night was still running fresh in my memory.

‘Hello there!’ said a faint American accented voice from behind me. I ignored it and kept walking ‘What? You know it’s rude to ignore those who try and talk to you… I did nothing wrong to deserve this Avery.’ He said nonchalantly.

I spun around too face him ‘You.Did.Nothing.Wrong.? Excuuuuuse meeeeee?!’ I demanded as I spun back around and kept walking, trying to ignore the stalker, creep trailing me.

He then put an arm around me as he put his mouth to my ear. I could feel the hotness of his breath against my skin as he spoke ‘Shhhhh…’ he tried to say as he slurred his words; great this guy was drunk and I should have known by the smell of his breath.

We were (thankfully) interrupted by a cheerful Kiren. ‘Oh… you guys are getting cosy.’ He said as he flashed a grin and continued ‘Oh um Avery… I have something to ask… Will you please accompany me to Corbin’s party this Saturday? It’s kind of a end of term party… except two weeks early. The whole schools going and I know, I know I usually don’t give a rats ass whether the schools going or not but… we deserve a night out, especially you!’ Kiren said pleadingly.

I hesitated before Corbin spoke, interrupting my internal debate ‘Come on Avery, live a little!’

‘W-where was this supposed party meant to be held?’ I asked cautiously.

Kiren and Corbin exchanged a menacing look before Kiren spoke ‘Listen Avery… it, it’s going to be behind the school, west-side…’

My eyes went wide as the thought of partying and alcohol being displayed on school grounds.

‘Please, please, please!’ Kiren begged with a puppy dog look.

We finally reached Music as we sat down in silence before I spoke ‘Fine… What time?’ I said as I saw Kiren’s face light up as Corbin’s went into a mischievous grin.

’10:30… to about, I don’t know… 3? Something like that.’ Corbin answered.

I gave a swift nod as I heard Corbin’s name being whispered, numerous times on the other side of the room as I looked over and realized the whole class was talking about Corbin’s party. Some girls even waved at him as he turned around as well. I watched him as he winked and turned back towards me.

‘See, you gotta give the people what they want.’ He said obnoxiously as he turned back to the front as Mr Ford walked in.

He didn’t even look at me as my face turned hard. What, was he ignoring me now? No, I was already dealing with the constant rejection; I really don’t think I could add this to my list.

‘Now class, you all know what you have to do. Keyboards are where you left them.’ He said as he turned back around and went to his desk.

I sat in my seat as everyone around me got up and headed towards the storage closet. Mr Ford looked up at me as I was the only one left seated as a questioning expression crossed his face before he turned away. What, he was letting me get away with everything now?

I put my cheek in the palm of my hand as my arm rested onto the table. ‘Do you… do you want a keyboard Avery?’ asked Kiren as he placed his keyboard onto his table as he plugged it into the power point. I shook my head as I continued to stare out of the window at the peaceful scenery displayed outside. Kiren shrugged it off as Corbin came up and set up the keyboard on the other side of me.

Class went by fairly quickly as everyone continued to ignore me. A couple of the girls even came up to Corbin and flashed their eyelashes.

‘Girls, back to your seats please.’ Mr Ford demanded as he eyed each one of them. A string of jealousy went through me as I looked back down.

When the bell finally went and everybody walked out, leaving Mr Ford and myself alone in the room.

I slowly walked up to his desk as he didn’t even look up from his book. ‘Um… Mr Ford, sir. I was just wondering, do we still have tutoring tomorrow, as it’s Saturday?’ I asked cautiously.

Cole Ford’s POV

I was not in the mood for class today. I don’t even know why. I couldn’t bare to look at Avery as my thought always drifted back to the other day when I was giving her the Piano lesson. I distinctly remember the closeness of her body against mine. No Cole… you can’t think about it! I demanded to myself.

When the bell suddenly rang, everybody was making their way out of the door when I heard someone’s footsteps approach my desk. I knew who it was even before she spoke.

I didn’t look up as she suddenly stopped at my desk. I pretended to keep reading my uninteresting book ‘Um… Mr Ford, sir. I was just wondering, do we still have Piano lessons tomorrow, as it’s Saturday?’ I heard the cautiousness in her voice as I could tell she didn’t know how exactly to approach me. She must have noticed my sudden change in behaviour towards her. But she didn’t understand…

I gave a nod as I could see her out of the corner of my eye. I could see a sudden questioning expression come into her features. ‘M-may I ask what time?’ she stuttered nervously.

‘9…’ is all I said as she commented ‘9… like in the morning?’ I gave a slight nod as she continued to stand there. I finally managed to look up at her and meet her eyes ‘Anything else Ms Blake?’ I asked, trying to hide the emotions on my face. She hesitated before she turned and headed to the door.

What was I doing to this poor girl.

Avery Blake’s POV

His strange behaviour was irritation me as I turned on my heels and began towards the door. ‘Wait Avery, have you, have you taken your pills?’ I heard him ask hesitantly as I paused, hand on door knob.

‘Y-yeah.’ I lied. I just couldn’t take them, they made me feel weak and overpowered.

My head dropped as the silence took over the room. ‘Very well… you may leave.’ He answered back. I knew he knew I was lying… but why just let me walk away?

I turned quickly as I met his pained expression before I quickly shut the door behind me.

What the hell was that about?!
