Chapter 3

2 weeks pass by, and I am finally able to go back to work. Though, it's not as if I want to return to work anyway...

I decisively pick out an outfit,  purposely dressing seductively to impress everyone - especially Sebastian on my awaited return.

I arrive at work, and I am greeted by my coworkers who'd missed me for these past 2 weeks of my suspension.

I also received compliments on my dress that I spent extra long searching for. Everything seems fairly normal so far.

Moments pass by, I soon realise that something doesn't feel right...

Sebastian.

He's not here for some reason. Usually he arrives 30 minutes earlier than the rest of us.

Worried, I ask "Has anyone seen Sebastian today?"

"Yeah. He's with Nicole upstairs in his office, why?" one of my coworkers reply.

"Oh? What's he doing with her?" I question with a slight concern.

"I have no idea - they said that it was important and just left. Why do you ask, anyway?"

"I needed to ask him something. Thanks for telling me. I shall go look for him."

I quickly storm off while trying to maintain my sanity.

Is he insane?! I ask myself. What the hell is he doing with Nicole in his office?

Not so long after, I approach Sebastian's office door. I hear mumbling. I recognise their voices. Yes...it definitely is Sebastian and Nicole.

Not wanting to disturb their moment, I began to walk away. But the temptation of hearing their conversation was too high.

So, I placed my ear on the door and began evesdropping. What could they possibly be talking about?

Nicole: "Aww, thank you for approving my complaints about Y/N! I truly believed that she was a burden to this workplace."

Sebastian: "No problem. Though, you might want to lower your voice around here. She is due to return to work today and I do not want her to hear us right now."

Nicole: "Oh don't worry! There's no way she'll he here by now. It's WAY too early and she's always late to work. So irresponsible."

Sebastian: "If you say so. Okay, I'll need you to leave now so that I can wait for Y/N at the lobby to greet her. It was nice talking to you, Nicole."

My eyes start to water slightly. What on earth did I just hear?! Does Sebastian really think of me in that way? And what did I ever do to Nicole to deserve this! There's no way I'm meeting him at the lobby today...

Suddenly, I hear footsteps approaching the door.

Not wanting to get caught, I hurridly leave to a place where no one could find me...
