Apo was busy on the day of the so-called charity event. Albeit tired, Apo was happy. He remembered that he used to anticipate an event like this when he was at the orphanage. An event like this was a free day for the orphanage inhabitants to do whatever they want, included eating a lot of sweets and ice creams. He was smiling looking at the toddlers running around chasing each other.
"Penny for your thought?" Chan asked. Apo smiled at him.
"Do you need help, father?"
"You rarely called me father. Do you have anything in your mind?" Chan asked again. Yes, he legally adopted Apo but Apo being Apo, he loved to pissed Chan off by not calling him father in public.
"I am actually thinking to apply for a placement in real school. I really want to teach kids in the rural areas. I think not every part of our country has orphanages like this,"
"Apo, you know that I'm not against it. You earned your degree in teaching, you are a certified teacher. I know you want to achieve your dreams,"
"But?" Apo asked.
"The thing is a friend of mine has had interest in you. I mean he wants to arrange a marriage between you and his second son," Chan said.
"You said yes, then?"
"No, son. I told him to ask you himself. I know you are my son but I want you to decide yourself. It's your life, Apo and you should have a say in it," smiled Chan. Apo smiled too.
Apo used to be in relationships before. Throughout his stay overseas, he might had caused Chan a lot of heart attacks with his shenanigans. At the end of the day, his relationships never ended on a good note.
"I'll think about it," said Apo.
"Do you still want to try to find your savior?" Chan asked.
Apo groaned. Why did his father have to know everything about him?
"How do you know?" pouted Apo. Chan chuckled.
"You are my son. Plus, I still remember your strikes when I refused to tell you his name," winked Chan.
"But it's a long time ago, father. I guess he already married," sighed Apo.
Apo vividly remember that he was saved by someone when he suddenly fell into a pool. At that time, the child Apo still cannot swim. Because of that incident, Apo still afraid of deep pool. He can manage to dip his feet inside the pool or any water body but once the water level goes up to his waist, he will start hyperventilates and flailing around.
"Would you believe me if I said that he's still single and ready to get married?"
"Oh, you are keeping secrets from me now, eh? You said there should not be any secret between us, father,"
"I'm not saying that I personally know him though,"
"But you do know him," added Apo.
"I might and I might not," shrugged Chan.
"Father," whined Apo.
"Now, get ready. Mr. Romsaithong will arrive soon and as a good host, we have to welcome him. I heard that his second son also come today," winked Chan.
"Father! Don't tell me you want me to marry Mr. Romsaithong second son, Mile?" asked Apo when the information sank in.
"I'm not asking you to marry Mile, dearest son. It's your decision. And yes, Mr. Romsaithong had proposed to me for you to marry Mile but it's your choice, Apo. Whatever you choose, I will and we will accept it wholeheartedly," said Chan. Apo could only sighed.
